Sunrise Point was an amazing experience for my 43rd Birthday-getaway. During my first contact with Casey, I found her as Timely, Courteous, Professional, and Respectful.

Upon arrival, Ann, one of the owners greeted and provided me with a tour. This personalized my entire experience. After opening the oversized floor to ceiling glass door, I immediately felt a sense of peace as we stepped on the private lakeside patio. That evening, both owners, Ann and Sue stopped by to take care of something. In that moment, I saw Sue's motherly skills manifest. She even "turned my bed down" for the night. 😀 The entire staff provided stellar customer service, which is exemplary and certainly worth recognition. For that reason, I felt like more than a guest, but I felt like family. In fact, we laughed when I called Sue and Ann my "Malakoff Moms." With Sunrise Point being an adult only, pet free property, I was able to peacefully reconnect with nature, enjoy several moments around the beautiful lakeside, and hours of walking around the entire peninsula without a care in the world. I enjoyed it so much that I extended my stay by an extra day, which allowed me to capture over 150 pictures and videos around the peninsula, sing out loud by the lakeside, reflect on my relationship with God, enjoy the putting green, horseshoes, and I danced freely between the attention-grabbing large oaks. It was as if nature and I had become one!

Upon departure, there became several moments in which I stopped and exited my vehicle before leaving the peninsula. It was like nature didn't want to release me. I used the moments to capture more images and admire the view just one last time before heading back to city life.

Visiting in the winter was a bonus because I was able to experience the rustic outdoors, while simultaneously enjoy a modern/contemporary living space. After a customized sleeping experience in an adjustable bed, I looked forward to remotely opening the shades to enjoy a calming morning view of the lake. The panoramic views of the sky and tree tops from the well-appointed shower were breathtaking. Spending relaxing evenings with a bottle of complimentary chilled wine near the cozy fire-pit was amazing. While enjoying those fire-pit moments at sunset, I watched in awe as God painted an impressive backdrop of nature's beauty around the lakeside.

I look forward to visiting Sunrise again, very soon. Oh, and I did not have to worry about alligators because there are none (insider)!...

If I could give Sunrise Point 10 stars I would! From someone who has a passion for party/event planning and attention to detail, I never thought I would find a venue or planning staff to meet my expectations. Well I was wrong! Sunrise Point and their staff exceeded my expectations and made my wedding everything I dreamed of and then some!! I received so many compliments from our guests and even our outside vendors!

Due to the pandemic we ended up having to change our destination wedding and have something local. Being a pandemic bride was not fun at all and I couldn't help but feel that our wedding wouldn't be what we envisioned and that was Ok.

We came across SRP and after touring it we fell in love, not just with the beautiful venue, but also with Casey, Annie & Sue! With their help, we were able to put our wedding together in just 8 weeks and yet it looked like it took at least a year to plan. Casey made sure to takes notes on all we envisioned for our big day and brought it to life! They were very attentive to all our needs and wants and I never heard "NO" even when I knew I was asking for too much. They provided me with a list of amazing vendors and they worked with all our vendors one on one to make sure we got what we wanted. The communication was great and I never had trouble getting quick responses to any questions or concerns we had.

The day of our wedding, they were all involved in making sure everything went off without a hitch and took care of us and our guest like family. The cottages were a big plus, they were clean, modern with great amenities and amazing views!

Before guest arrived, I stood in the middle of our ceremony & reception area and just looked around as tears rolled down my face because it was beyond what I had dreamed of!

Thank you SRP!!

P.S. Make sure to ask for a one of Annies'...

I attended a family wedding here. The 2 stars are for the location. If not, I would give it less. The location is beautifully set on a lake peninsula. However, the staff there were down right rude at times.

The venue lacks a good parking lot for events so guests are shuttled in, which is not an issue, but the employees were made to use their own cars (something about a golf cart shortage). Rightfully so, they were obviously anxious about their personal property as we loaded in. I can't blame them, but not the best start to my experience.

Next, my family member who rented the venue was told that we could use the main house the day of the event. When my sister and 76 year old mother arrived they entered the house to put down their things, they were rudely escorted out and told they were not supposed to be in there. This also happened to the groom's grandmother and family. I know for a fact this is part of the reason these family member left rather early since there was not a good place for them to get out of the heat despite my cousin being told otherwise when they toured the venue.

During the event, the caterer had provided a choice of hot dogs for the children in attendance. When my adult cousin wanted one, an employee of the venue rudely told her she could not have one despite the fact that they were not part of the catering crew. Once the caterer found out, he promptly corrected the mistake since he had planned ahead and brought plenty for adults to have one if they wanted. (The caterer was a family friend and not affiliated with the venue.)

While I am aware that there were other issues that day, these are just the ones I experienced as a guest of an event at the venue. In the end, I was left with the feeling that I would not want to return no matter how...

We just vacationed at Sunrise Point over the past weekend (Friday - Sunday) and our stay was nothing short of incredible. The grounds are beautiful and immaculate, the views of the lake, trees and wildlife are stunning, the lake cottages are well appointed, well designed and modern and the amenities plentiful. Probably the most impressive thing about Sunrise Point was the top notch service! Casey, the General Manager was informative and extremely pleasant to work with and Annie, one of the owners was just amazing. Annie warmly greeted us, spoke with us about her incredible property, brought us and other guests drinks by the pool and was just overall a kind, inviting and friendly person. We went to Sunrise Point to unwind and relax and we were not disappointed in the slightest. I cannot find one negative thing to say about this property and our experience, other than we had to leave it! We do plan to be back. Thank you! **2024 Update, just returned from 11/15-11/17 and the review above stands true. We had another wonderful visit at Sunrise Point. The property, two years later is just as immaculate, the Casey and Annie, both just as warm and welcoming. We were happy to meet Foxy, the resident Fox and to connect with nature while staying at this beautiful and peaceful place. Truly a gem.
