We had a family stay of 4 nights here that included our teenage daughters and my 80 year old mom. So three generations and everyone loved the Inn and the experience. All of the staff are super friendly and helpful and go out of their way to make your stay exceptional. They are attentive and really deliver personalized service from the chefs to the drivers to guiding you on hikes and preparing you for your daily adventures with insight on all your needs. Highlights of the Inn include the extremely comfortable great room that has a fire and a warm and inviting atmosphere to relax in after your activities and large windows looking out for wildlife viewing. The food is non stop with generous and delicious breakfast, lunch and dinners as well as pre dinner appetizers. They also we're fantastic with dietary restrictions as my daughters have Celiac, and they rolled out an amazing variety of Gluten Free options for all the meals including some GF baked goods that rivaled any of the best GF bakeries we have found. No one wanted to leave. The Bear Track is a great place to launch your Glacier Bay NP adventures. The owners are very hands on and involved, extremely knowledgeable, and they also are continually improving the amenities with additional hiking map and trail options from the lodge, e-bikes for rent for a quick trip to town, and a sauna planned for the near future.

We came to the Bear Track Inn during our Alaska summer trip. Our trip included fishing, whale watching, hiking and Glacier Bay NP. All of that was amazing- we saw whales, sea lions, orcas & lots of otters! Michele and Dave made every excursion seamless and all of the people that contributed to our time in Gustavus were outstanding. The inn is beautiful, the grounds & surrounding areas are all breathtaking. We saw several moose in the area at the national park and in the backyard of the inn. Beautiful! The rooms are so comfortable and everything you need is readily available. The people at the lodge are beyond kind, informative, helpful and just wonderful. Dave is a gracious host. Larry is the best fishing guide ever and my husband had the best time river fishing with him. Nancy, Adeline, Serafina, Cameron & Landon were just awesome all week. And Chefs Angie & Shannon kept us so well fed! Everyone at the lodge are amazing people but the secret weapon is Janie- Dave’s mom! She is more than we expected. She drove us to the NP, took us on a couple different hikes and is just good people. We loved every minute of our time here at the Bear Track Inn and would absolutely recommend it for your Alaska vacation.

Bear Track Inn provides a wonderful experience by bringing together all the comforts of a great lodge with superb service in a truly rustic and beautiful setting. Being there is energizing and relaxing, a unique combination. You are situated in a landscape replete with wildlife viewing, offering immediate access to Glacier Bay National Park and the opportunity to engage in half- and full-day adventures and excursions to your heart's content. Fishing, hiking, sightseeing, whale-watching, kayaking, biking. And if the objective is to balance activity with peace and quiet, that's easy to accomplish at the inn. Three interrelated threads define the experience: the genuine hospitality and deep experience of the family that owns and operates Bear Track; the superlative quality of the accommodations; and the depth and quality of the dining experience. (Yes, the needs of any "foodie" are met by the creativity and skill of the chefs.) This unsolicited review follows my second visit to Bear Track Inn (first in May/June of 2013 and now June of 2025). My goal is to return again soon. Bear Track Inn is not just a great destination. It is a touchstone.

Our stay at Glacier Bay's Bear Track Inn in Gustavus, Alaska was nothing short of magical. Nestled in breathtaking surroundings, this lodge is a true gem - stunningly gorgeous, yet exuding comfort and serenity in every detail.

From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed and made to feel like part of the Bear Track family. Michelle, in particular, was a standout, effortlessly arranging our multiple day trip activities with expertise and enthusiasm. Each adventure - from kayaking alongside whales to fishing, glacier tours, and scenic hikes - was meticulously planned and unforgettable.

The setting itself is unparalleled; Alaska's natural beauty served as the perfect backdrop for our explorations. Whether we were out on the water or trekking through the wilderness, every moment was a testament to the wonders of this remarkable place.

Our accommodations were equally impressive, offering a cozy retreat after each exhilarating day. The attention to detail throughout the lodge reflected a genuine passion for hospitality and a deep respect for the environment.

Glacier Bay's Bear Track Inn surpassed all expectations, creating memories that will undoubtedly linger for years to come. For anyone seeking a quintessential Alaskan experience infused with warmth and adventure, look no further than this...

When we first walked in the door, we were immediately greeted by Michelle and her staff. They were very welcoming and kind to us. The staff that they had were amazing; from the chefs, to the front desk, to those who transported us around Gustavus. The food was absolutely delicious, and the chefs were very talented! The appetizers they had were perfect each evening. Michelle was so helpful in choosing and making arrangements for activities and excursions. From a day boat to whale watching to kayaking, each day packed full of wonderful adventure with a perfect place to return to for the evenings.

All of the staff were very kind and accommodating, but Adeline went out of her way to make the experience that much better. She was so knowledgeable and she knew her way around. When I found out it was her first time at the bear track inn it shocked me. It seemed like she’s been there her whole life. I loved that she asked me to make s’mores with her. It was fun and messy at the same time. She also went with us on a 12 mile bike ride. Even though I get left behind she stayed with me and talked to me until the bike ride was over. She knew it was hard for me to get on the bike but that didn’t stop her from helping me and getting a good laugh in. I’m sore after the bike ride but it...
