My wife and I had looked around for the best GSD breeder in Texas and came across Sonia's misleading website with pictures of puppies that weren't even the ones you would be buying. She also doesn't live at her GSD Auschwitz concentration camp with extremely high fenced puppy mill to be able to tend to the the puppies properly. This is why so many people have reported getting their puppies home with tons of ticks, fleas and worms. She will try to distract you with stories of how she donates to veterans and law enforcement and brag about her pedigree. Even if all that is true, she doesn't provide proper care to the pregnant mothers or puppies and that's why there have been so many health issues reported on her. Our specific scenario involved receiving pictures of a really young puppy that was on the larger side for $2500. When we get there the dog is way older than the one in the pictures and it wasn't large, he was actually the runt of the litter and he immediately ran away and coward down and then rolled over on his back which are all bad behavioral traits for GSD puppies. I see this as them not being socialized properly since Sonia doesn't have the time hence the phrase puppy mill. Anyways, we still ended up buying him and got him home and he was invested with fleas, ticks and worms. We called and told her and she wasn't apologetic or concerned about his health or well-being. She just immediately stated she would take him back. She was extremely defensive and didn't take responsibility for her neglect, she just continued to justify how that's normal breeder issues. She's just in it for the money. Well now our boy is 4.5 years old and already has hip issues and had extremely stunted growth and is not athletic at all. Sonia is a scammer with a low end product with a deceiving high price tag. We ended up getting our second GSD from Guardian Kennels in Waco, Texas and she was only $800, $1700 cheaper and had none of the above health issues and is a beautiful GSD. She has a straight back and healthy hips unlike Sonia's show style slanted back with...
Read moreThere is a place in Hico you must see! I first saw GSD Ranch before the Ireland’s bought it. It was hard to see past mounds of trash, grown up pastures, & tattered house.
My suggestion was “burn it”.
Sense then they have put a ton of money into it and continue to. The have cleaned up the property, mowed the field, added fences, & remolded the main house. Plumbing and electric has put in for 12 tiny homes.
On the 17 acres you will have plenty of space to roam. A huge pond. Pasture for longhorn steer, sheep, alpaca, chickens & of course German shepherds. There is a fire pit made of huge stone that can seat at-least 15.
I am working with the Ireland’s on constructing the tiny homes, everything will be first class. Come check out to one of the best up & coming places at the gateway to the...
Read moreI am in love with this ranch! (Almost as much as my daughter is!!) I am so happy I found the perfect aesthetic ranch to put my tiny home on. This ranch is so big and the animals add a real ranch experience. This property doesn’t even compare to any other places I looked at. The big trees everywhere make it feel more private and adventurous. Seeing wild ducks at the pond and exploring around the pond and animals is unbeatable. You can’t find this experience anywhere else. The gorgeous fire pit is perfect for s’mores and family time in the evenings. Location is so close to historic downtown Hico, which I am also in love with!! So cute and quaint. Took some searching, but this place fulfills the dream I had for my tiny...
