I'm sure they have some decent cabins there but the one my brother rented wasn't even shown on there website. It smelled like a moldy mildew locker room cave that had a musty swamp ass smell 2 it. Fridge wasn't cold and took 2 days to make ice. The place was so dark because it had ten watt Edison bulbs from the 1930 in it. Had to use flash light 2 see in there. Bathroom floor was wet all the time from the shower or toilet leaking all the time. No air conditioner bed and furniture were from the 1930s 2. And the dead fresh mouse in the bathroom wasn't a plus either. No channels on the tv, the one listed on there channel list were not available and the distance to the lake wasn't thrilling. The damp foul mildew funk is what made it the worst. I can see why the cottage wasn't show on there website I'd be embarrassed 2 show the place 2. I would not go back unless the cottage rented was show on there website . My brother paid a lot of money for a place that smelled like old wet shoes and moldy underwear that u could not forget about. I'm a seasoned pro when it comes 2 fishing and lake Hamlin fishing really sucks and the lake smelled like a septic field 2. Really was disappointed with the cottage they should of shown it on there website and with smellavision. My brother got scam for what he paid. They did have some nice cabins on there website but the one we rented is not shown on it. If the owner thinks my review is unfair then please show the cabin we rented...
Read moreJean and Jack are the most wonderful hosts! They are accommodating, helpful, and just all around good people. We stayed in Cottage #6, which we shared with another couple for the first half of our stay. This particular cabin worked perfect for our group of 4, with 2 bedrooms equipped with queen beds, and a spare with 1 twin. It also had a spacious kitchen, and two living spaces. We used the front porch quite a bit for enjoying the perfect summer weather and some grilling. The dock was a short walk from our front step and came with a boat slip. Jack was kind enough to help us launch just down the road and park the trailer for the week. Being tucked in the Bayou offers a quiet oasis with beautiful lake views and a place to cast your line to reel in some perch, sunfish, bass, and pike. The resort is a great location for direct access to Hamlin Lake, Ludington and Silver Lake state parks, Lake Michigan, and downtown Ludington. An inviting lake house to truly relax with...
Read moreWe stayed in cottage 4 right on the water and had a dock for our pontoon boat. Our friends who needed more room stayed in 6 and 7 (these were spacious!). Other friends stayed in number 8 where they had a view of their 24 foot boat. We enjoyed all the activities our awesome hosts provided: kayak, paddleboat, canoe, tether ball, corn hole, and a fire pit complete with wood! The cottage was clean with comfortable beds and the kitchen was very well equipped. The owners greeted us and even helped us put in our boat and give us pointers about the area. We enjoyed boating to Ludington State Park and boating to the dunes--climbing them for a beautiful panoramic view. In addition, we loved Chuck Wagon pizza and House of Flavors Ice Cream. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend...
