My husband and I had never been to Ludington before. We were looking for a partial week, something affordable, and somewhere close to the state park. Peaceful Acres ticked all the boxes. *Note: This review is for the MOTEL ROOM UNITS, not the cabins/cottage units (haven't stayed in those). I called about a month before our trip and was surprised to be able to reserve one of the motel rooms at Peaceful Acres for three nights (versus their cabins/cottages which are booked way in advance and for a weekly rate during season). Side note: the woman who picked up answered "Ferwerda's." Apparently that's part of the name of this place too. Our unit was #19 and it had two different rooms with a queen bed in each with the bathroom in the middle. The room also had a small fridge/freezer, 4-cup coffee maker, microwave, hairdryer (hiding under sink), shower (square, no tub), A/C, and a couple TV's. The rooms were clean. We weren't able to connect successfully to the Wifi but we didn't ask about it so that might've been able to be fixed. There is no table in the room, so we ate most of our meals at the picnic table on our front porch. We used the back room for our 9-month-old son and put the pack-n-play on the side, and set our suitcases on the bed back there. I also used the cupboard/entertainment center for food storage (just pushed the TV over). I used hot/cold bags whenever we went out for the day so we didn't have to purchase meals. For meals, I packed an ELECTRIC GRIDDLE! The campfires are community (they have three) but we weren't right by any of them so we didn't bother (totally could have though). The only sink is a bathroom sink (separate a but right across from the bathroom) and I used that to wash dishes. Brought my own dish soap, hand soap, cutting board, sharp knives, paper products, skillet, coffee mugs (theirs are small), board/card games, etc. Was able to make-do rather well. We ate out one evening by choice. Also, it is well water, so if that's a problem for you, bring your own water. As far as the community, it is clearly very family friendly, and I have no doubt if you want to get to know the other guests, you could, we just opted to stick to ourselves. There were guests in the motel room right next to us and they were very friendly, but other than some conversation as we went in and out, again we stuck to ourselves. The front desk was a bit disappointing. We had never been and had no idea the protocol. Didn't really get anything explained to us. Some things that might have been helpful like how the campfire work (including lighting and firewood and community, etc.), that you take out your own trash (all good, just didn't know if we should be waiting for someone to come by), that towels aren't replaced every day (again, no problem, just didn't know how it worked), nearby attractions, etc. None of this is a big deal, but as timid first-timers we just felt like everyone else knew how it all worked, and we didn't. We still absolutely enjoyed our time though! The beach is nice and there's some picnic tables and a grassy spot down by the beach. Quite lovely and peaceful. Overall we had an incredibly relaxing trip. We loved how close it was to the state park. If you're just wanting a few days and/or want to plan well for food and save money that way (since the motel rooms don't have a kitchenette), this is a great option.

an old resort on the lake, well kept and amazingly well maintained by the couple who own it. My visit was the last week of the season, and so it was rainy and a bit dreary.. Perfect! raining the first day, cloudy the second and sunny the third! I took a sound bar to play music and a couple iPads which kept us completely entertained, and even though wireless was offered, we used my phone services for data with no problems. If I can come back I will, and their knowledge of the area was invaluable since I was here as a little kid.. I remembered some things and some were changed or gone, as they often are. the State Park is a few miles away, and the lighthouse (restored) is one of the hikes nearby.. Because it was a bit chilly, I would have a fan next time, since it would be nice in summer, it would have spread the heat from the heater in the middle of the living room.

These are older cabins, but kept very clean and the owners are very attentive and friendly. Being right on the lake with boat/pontoon rental availability a d the beautiful views is wonderful, and yes, PEACEFUL. worth the visit!

Last time I had stayed here was 4 years ago. We had not been back due to family having cancer and illness. But prior to that my family has been staying there for at least 4years in a row. I had called on 7/14/2020 to ask if they had availability for this weekend and maybe starting this Saturday for a week. A lady used to answer the phone. A older male answers the phone and does not even let me finish my sentence note let me ask any other questions. He kept saying no we have nothing no sorry did you hear me and hung up. SAD AND POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. When my family was staying there we had 4 to 5 cottages rented and one time in one week. Normal people would hear a person out before basically cutting them off. So thank you for your hospitality I would not even be giving one star for the customer service of this older gentleman but if I did not I...
