Staying at the Country Herigage Bed and Breakfast was a very nice experience. We traveled to Iowa to see family and usually stay with them, but this time we decided to treat ourselves and make it a little getaway too. It is an Incredible value, whether you are staying for a day, a weekend, or a week. Their prices are available on their website. http://www.countryheritagebb.com/ We felt very welcome and comfortable. If you have questions, email them.||||If you are celebrating something special, packages are available, and they are very accomodating and could probably do any special request that you could possibly think of for a reasonable price. ||||I paid using credit card with no hassles. We stayed for a week. ||||We stayed in the Inspiration Room, which was very large with a comfortable bed, lots of pillows and 450 thread count sheets. There were two large comfortable chairs and a nice TV. The bathroom was huge. There was a jaccuzi tub that looked very inviting, unfortunately we didn't have time. The shower was large and the water was plenty hot. I liked the drawers in the bathroom so you could put things away and not leave them setting out. ||||There was WiFi available and we used it with no issues. There is plenty of room to park. You could relax downstairs in a comfortable room with a huge TV in case you brought guests over or just wanted to socialize.||||The breakfast was delicious and it was nice to meet other couples from around the country. You can use the kitchen to prepare or eat a meal if you want to, we didn't but others did.||||You have use of the very fancy front load washer and dryer if you need it.||||Our room had a balcony, which allowed you to get some fresh air. My kind of air was the air conditioning, which they have throughout the entire house. That is a BIG PLUS when the temperature is hot, and it was hot OUTSIDE but we were cool inside.||||I asked to see some of the other rooms when they were open and they were all very nice. They come in different shapes and sizes, some able to accomodate more people than others. ||There are pictures on the website.||||The sun did rise early but we successfully slept through it on most days. The inn is near the highway. I was not bothered but I always bring ear plugs when traveling because you never know when you might need them. ||||Some of the guests seemed to be visiting family or friends or just passing through for relaxation. But there are SO MANY things to do around the area, like seeing a movie at the Windsor Theatre or going to Beeds Lake State Park just a couple miles away for a hike or a boat ride. Or seeing the Municipal band concert downtown in the Summer on Tuesdays. ||||For those of you considering a trip to the country, you just can't miss by staying here. If you miss town, it is just a few miles down the road. ||||And by the way - if you have a family - there is plenty of lawn for them to play on. I personally liked looking at the stars - I miss that living...
Read moreMy family of five stayed one night at this beautiful B&B. It is in a very rural/farm setting near Hampton, IA (about 4 miles E off I-35) and the pleasantly pastoral setting gives you a wonderfully relaxing rest. The night we stayed, we were the only non-long term people there. Of the other three people, two were staying all summer and the third was staying for two months for work. The owners bend over backwards to ensure your stay is pleasant and the breakfast is wonderful.
Adjacent to the house in an old garage is "The Giggling Goat" gift shop which is beautifully decorated using antique farm equipment and has a wonderful array of local and in-state made products such as flavored popcorn, cookie dough mix, candles, clothing, and other goods.
I can't give the Country Heritage Bed & Breakfast a higher recomendation - a 5-star establishment and a definite gem in North...
Read moreI'm originally from the area, so it's difficult to be objective in my rating. The b&b is conveniently located just a few miles directly off Interstate 35, on U.S. Highway 3. This is family run affair, principally by the mother and daughter, where you can feel at home. The innkeepers were very accommodating, permitting me to use the gathering room for a meeting and to invite a guest for breakfast. The bedroom was comfortable and clean. Bring your own hair dryer, but you will find each room furnished with a whirlpool tub and corresponding amenities. Guests may use the kitchen; fitness facilities are available in nearby Hampton for a nominal fee. They've opened a shop in a building on the grounds which has some rather cute items, focusing on "made in Iowa" or, if that's not...
