Worst camping trip ever!!! I’ve been camping for over 20 years visiting campgrounds throughout the United States. This is hands-down, the worst one I’ve ever been to. We check into our cabin half the windows are missing blinds, no privacy. Our cabin is located directly under the sun, no trees for shade. The inside temperature of our cabin reached into the 100s with no air-conditioning. The cabin was filthy and disgusting dog hair everywhere even in the fridge. Muffin crumbs were all over the counters upon arrival. Ants crawling all over everything. We woke up with them on us! Our campground neighbors were very unfriendly. A lot of the guests are permanent residents. It’s more like a trailer park than a Campground. There’s free Wi-Fi, but it doesn’t even work. We had Verizon and couldn’t get a signal the whole weekend. They advertise amenities like canoeing, but it’s in a swamp not a lake. The pool doesn’t open till 10 AM, most campgrounds are much earlier. We came during a weekend when there was a family retreat over 100 of them spread out between 10 campsites, feet away from us, blasting their music from 10 AM to 10 PM. A lot of them teenagers causing ruckus at the early 2 AM hour. The two stall bathroom constantly had a wait. Why would you think over 100 people could accommodate two bathroom stalls!?! I would not recommend this place it’s dirty and not peaceful. We ended up leaving early. Such a waste of money, worst...
Read moreI like to try and highlight what we liked first.... the sites we had were wooded and big. We are in a 38 foot motorhome and still had plenty of room. The pool and slides were fun for the kids and our smallest one loved the shallow walk-in area. We loved the trails around the campground for walking our dogs. Lastly the people they have working there were the best. Which brings me to what we didn't like. As mentioned above, we're in a large RV. Normally we would run off 50 amps but have used 30 amps at other campgrounds. When we're home that's all we use and can have one A/C on without issues. Here even one A/C was causing power to go out, forget about the microwave or toaster. Props to Cam, the manager, who tried to help us troubleshoot and later Dave from maintenance. Dave was able to help some but it still wasn't right. Water pressure was off and on too. Unfortunately that wasn't just an "us" issue as we heard from others around us. Wifi was not the greatest and since we had Verizon, cell service was non-existent. The wifi, when you could connect, would boot you off after an hour. Not a great situation when you have 2 preteen girls. (One upside, it forced them both to pick up a book) So overall would we stay here again, no, which is too bad. It has potential but the infrastructure needs a lot...
Read moreIf you are looking for a relaxing weekend, detached from electronics this is the place for you. There is no Verizon cell service and the Wifi kicks you off every hour (sometimes sooner) or has no reception. Even the food truck couldn't get a wifi signal to run their computers. The employees are AMAZING (I can't remember the name of the young man that was in the office when my husband checked in and then I went in the next morning but he was top notch). The sites are very clean and are graveled. You ARE on top of each other though. The pool was clean and felt great in the hot air this weekend. My son enjoyed the slides. The arcade has a few things in it and my son also enjoyed that. The "stocked trout pond" is not very stocked. The fish are tiny and, as you can't used a barbed hook, their mouths are too small to catch them. This made the fishing derby not great as only one kid caught anything. The hiking trails are well kept and, oddly enough, there is cell service at the kayak launch. All in all a nice relaxing place to spend time with the family that is clean and well kept. Not great when you have important texts or emails coming in and you have no cell service and have to re-connect to the wifi every 10 min to an hour with no rhyme or reason on ability to connect or not and time on...
