I stayed at Camp Laughing Grass for the weekend in the cabins with my boyfriend, my best friend and her boyfriend. Although we had a lot of fun at the campground itself with the gatherings and things, but we will NEVER return. We arrived Friday night just before 7pm and they were getting ready to lock the wood for the night so my boyfriend purchased 3 bundles of wood and paid cash for them. We weren't able to have a fire Friday night when we got there due to the rain so we waited until Saturday to burn the wood we PURCHASED. Saturday night we had a fire and ended up burning 2 of the 3 bundles of wood we purchased and ending up leaving the third bundle next to the fire pit so other campers could use it, as we cannot bring it across state lines. We checked out on Sunday just before 11am, and not even an hour after we left I got a voicemail from Trinity the owner accusing us of STEALING wood Saturday night after it had already been locked. She told us that she had "a bunch of reports of us grabbing wood when it was locked" and word for word said "If you could possibly pay for that and not steal from weed camp we'd really appreciate it". I don't appreciate her accusing us of "stealing" wood when she has on RECORD that we bought our 3 bundles of wood the first night we were there. Why would we STEAL more wood when we didn't even use all 3 bundles that we purchased?? We called her back and told her our side of things and she said "So you're calling my friends liars that I've known for years?" and YES I am calling them liars because we didn't STEAL wood. I could understand if she called us asking if we forgot to pay for wood but the fact that she called and just went straight to accusing us of stealing. So unless you want the chance of possibly being accused of stealing while staying there, I would stay FAR away from this place.
UPDATE: In response to the owner; first of all we arrived at 6:51pm and it says to CALL if you are going to be later then 7. We weren't rude to a single person at that campground and we were respectful of everything we used. We did NOT tell other people "how to steal wood" nor did we steal wood ourselves. Maybe you need cameras if you feel that you cannot trust your campers, or maybe you need better friends that won't lie to you. AND two of us are 26 so either way we would have booked your campground. 👍
Like we told you on the phone yesterday, we will pay for whoever stole the wood if you really don't believe us but we...
Read moreJust coming back from our second year at Camp Laughing Grass and I'm already Day Dreaming of next year's trip. The camp ground itself is nice for those who may not camp often but still love the outdoors or even those that want a more chill camping experience in more ways than one ;) You can choose to be on a campsite or yurt and have some more seclusion even with other yurts close by you don't feel on top of each other. If you want to be more up and around people the cabins are a good fit. We stayed in the cabins ourselves this year. My boyfriend and I absolutely loved it. We met so many wonderful people and shared good bud and laughs. The 420 happy hours are a never miss for us as they are always a hit, we had freeze dried brownie shmedibles, some tasty well rolled bones and much more. My collar bones were sore from the coughing at the end of our 5 day stay (You of course dont gotta go all out like I did but its weed camp I figured why not!) The weather was beautiful warm sunny days, and crisp cooler nights perfect for some smores by a fire. We had two movie nights, did tye die, played guess that strain with some doinks and played board games! The river was refreshing during those warms days, the river this year was pretty low and calm nice for a walk or small dip or float and FISHING, my boyfriend probably caught 30 fish (Maybe some where the same fish its hard to tell) One of my favorite memories was enjoying a nice relaxing smoke in the sun floating on a tube simply perfect! Over all Camp Laughing Grass is amazing , Trinity is a wonderful host and supplier of good vibes and good highs hehe Indie is the best Security around and we simply cannot wait until...
Read moreI had wanted to go camping here for a couple years and finally got to experience it myself on the Fourth of July weekend. We arrived on the fourth and had to wait to check in because the owner was hosting a game with the campers. To my surprise she doesn’t ID her guests when they arrive yet has them sign a waiver. The camp had a very cliquey vibe and many of the campers seemed unwelcoming and judgmental even though there is a supposed community vibe. The two bathrooms were constantly muddy and the first night we were there the bathroom had period blood on the floor. There are no cleaning materials available to guests in the bathroom other than a squeegee. The staircase leading down to the yurts and primitive sites has a giant piece of metal sticking too far out that you have to watch out for. The activities hosted by the owner seem like such a money grab considering the large amount of money guests spend to stay here. Paying five dollars per bingo card is absurd. The communal grills, griddles and kitchen tools were often dirty because the campers didn’t bother to really clean up after themselves. The website claims that there will be floats available to use in the river which there weren’t. The campground is very small and everyone is on top of one another. We stayed in a Yurr that was on unleveled ground and constantly would trip and stumble if we needed to get up in the night. Trinity (the owner) herself seemed to have a holier than thou attitude towards her guests. I wouldn’t recommend going to this campground but I’m glad we tried it out and met some interesting people while we were there because they made our...
