This was the first time my wife and I stayed at a B&B so we weren't sure what to expect. But after staying there for a week while attending a beginner's weaving course in Harrisville, we were so glad we chose the Harrisville Inn. The proprietors, Maria and Bob, made us feel so welcome, so comfortable, and so much at home. Even though our weaving classes started early each morning, Maria always prepared a delicious and hearty breakfast for us. We also had 24/7 access to a refrigerator, microwave, dishes/silverware, coffees, teas, hot chocolate, and fresh baked cookies or brownies. This worked out great for us because, being so convenient to our weaving class, we came back to the Inn to eat lunch every day. Usually, Maria would greet us and ask if we needed anything. Maria is amazing! I mentioned I liked mangos and the next day there were freshly sliced mangos waiting for me in the refrigerator at lunch time. Every morning she prepared fresh blueberries, strawberries, and/or apples as part of our breakfasts. Her omelettes and pancakes were superb but her sourdough French Toast was probably the best I've ever had. And, there was also warm home made maple syrup from the trees around her Inn to go along with it. || The living room, dining room and bedroom were fully furnished with beautiful antique furniture and there was a large screen tv and a gas fireplace in the living room. There were also plenty of magazines available to read as well as a small bookshelf of books. Maria and Bob told us to treat it as if it was our own home and that's the way it felt.|| Whenever we travel, we come away with different impressions of what was most memorable about the trip. Besides the experience of learning to weave (a bucket list item for my wife but surprisingly, I enjoyed it too), the most special part of this trip was getting to know and enjoying the company of Maria and Bob. We swapped stories, talked about our careers and families, watched a hockey and baseball game together and learned that we shared many common interests. We left feeling like we made two new friends. If our future travels take us up to that area again, we will definitely look forward to another great stay at the...
Read moreThe Harrisville Inn Bed and Breakfast was an incredible choice for my week at a weaving class at Harrisville Designs. My wife and I had a wonderful stay at this comfortable and comforting Inn. The bed and breakfast is only a mile from the center of Harrisville, New Hampshire. The best part of our stay was the Innkeeper, Maria and her husband, Bob. From the time of arrival through the last day of our stay (6 days,) Maria worked to make us comfortable and well fed at breakfast. The Inn has everything we needed— Great Room, efficient WiFi, a TV if we wanted to watch what was happening in the world, (sometimes yes, sometimes no.....). Coffee and tea 24/7, and fresh baked cookies whenever I wanted. The best part though was the hospitality shown by Maria and her husband. We felt like guests at a...
Read moreBasic accommodations at this Inn from someone who loved B & Bs in Ireland & Nova Scotia. Found the house to be on the cold & dark side. Dated decor & furnishings, no TV in room. Mattress poor with crinkly cover. Not happy that my bathroom was not ensuite. Not able to lock my room door when out of room. Bath towel was rough, had a tear and provided with a previously used bar of soap. Took me a while to get dated shower control to work. Very basic breakfast on the meager side, no early coffee out.
