This has topped all the RV parks we have stayed at! Such a remote and secure facility offers all the amenities (laundry, showers, full hook ups) you expect, but with a great crowd in a clean environment. The family and I spent a weekend here and it is only 30min to the beach with the town of New Bern only 15min away as well as a national forest. The folks here are all active or retired military so it is a really friendly place to stop off and get some much needed relaxation. With the kayak rentals and fishing dock just down the road (7min walk) it is easy to enjoy the days and if we had more time we would stay for longer. If you check in after hours the camp host is really on point with brining your receipt and all the camp instructions to your spot after you get settled. We will be spending some much needed time away here again!

This was our 1st stay at Pelican Point and we were not disappointed. It's very nice and clean with level sites, full hookups, cable and friendly staff. We didn't use the public restrooms/showers, so can't comment about them. Large area to be able to walk your dog(s) and beautiful sunsets from the parks edge. One side note...you are on an air base, so plan on hearing jet noise occasionally.

It is a beautiful RV park, fishing and kayaking are some of the things offered. I do wish they had a dog park so that the dogs could have some off leash time. The price is great, and the Marine Corp base is very nice.

Minus dealing with neighbors who aren’t responsible or respectful, that unfortunately aren’t staying for a minimal time frame, the place is nice. I wish people would have more respect for their neighbors. Especially being on a base where rules should be as so...Dogs shouldn’t be left out on a lead at all times of the day and at night when it’s freezing. The lady who works at the office is friendly and helpful. I find she doesn’t get enough help when it comes to things like this. Residents at the park stay for years at a time which I think hasn’t helped her with keeping rules and things in order. Due to covid things are busier here. People do not abide by the commanders order to wear a mask in the break/laundry room. The laundry room has to be cleaned every time we use it. Due to a lot of animals per travel trailer the washers and dryer’s constantly are caked in gunk and animal hair. Lori placed signs asking people to clean after use, but they were short lived, as someone tore them up and threw them away. I know that if things don’t change what once was a quiet and nice park will end up being abused more and more. Keep this park nice for the ones who care!!! Management should look into certain things that could make people’s stay...

Pelican Point RV In the 20+ military campgrounds I have stayed at, this is by far the best. It starts with the customer service when calling for reservations, continues at check in and completed with the stay. Well maintained, large concrete pad lots with lots of room between sites. Paved roads in the park. Great water pressure and no electricity issues. No septic issues. VERY clean bathhouse. Large and modern. Laundry in park with 2 washers & 3 dryers. $1.50 each. Easy access to the park from US 70 and none of the issues normally found on military posts with poor road conditions. The ONLY issue is the smell in the laundry room. There is a very obvious backup of sewer gases into the laundry room. An issue that needs to be addressed by the base maintenance crew. Not only unpleasant but also a health hazard. Aside from the campground the base is lacking. Mostly in maintenance. It has to be the worse maintained base I have ever been to. Overgrown bushes, trees and grass. Buildings in disrepair and poor upkeep. The commissary had expired breakfast food. We didn’t...
