Coco-nut Hale — Hotel in Hawaii

You'd be better off staying at a hostel or camping! I came for a birthday getaway to relax and pamper myself a bit. The descriptions and pics of this place are not accurate! The property isn't cleaned or well maintained. The outside looks like it has been under renovation for quite some time, there's tools and debris everywhere. Upon entering, you're greeted by geckos, which is normally cute, accept their poop is all over the floor and you can tell no one ever sweeps. I stayed in the large queen size room with detached private bath. The room was ok, but the bathroom was disgusting! There was mold in the tub and all over the shower curtain, the previous guests left their miscellaneous hair all over, the top of the toilet is held together with duct tape. There's no hand soap or wash cloths, and the mirror was completely dirty. I had to call the owner and text her several times before she answered my call, and the only explanation she gave is that she's not a hotel. Well that's obvious! I wasn't looking for a hotel, what about some common sense of cleanliness!? Do you keep your house this filthy? Why would anyone want to stay in a place like this? It's basically a brokedown palace! The only reason I stayed instead of finding another place is because I had the cleaning ladies come and clean up the bathroom. Otherwise, I would've asked for a refund. Today I'm checking out, and she's had the hot water turned off! I don't check out until noon and I can't even take a hot shower! This lady is cheap and petty. Most of the lights don't even work cuz she doesn't wanna pay the electricity. Definitely don't waste any money on this place unless you come with your own cleaning supplies. What's the point of paying a $130 cleaning fee if you have to clean up the place when you get...

This owner is the most dishonest person I have ever met! She stranded us after she made a mistake and did not book accommodations that were adequate for our family. We were stranded in Kona, HI with all hotels booked full. My granddaughter sat crying in the car, she suggested us additionally booking another of their properties at a different location which I couldn't put our elderly mother in a different property, and then she threatened me concerning the room we had booked. If that isn't enough - when Booking.com tried to deal with her she refused to refund our money. So now I am out that money as well as having to pay for another room. This is very unprofessional, disrespectful and reflects bad on booking.com. Do not let anyone else book with these people. I would hate for another family to go...

I would give coconut hale 6-stars if I could. There were some complications with our flight which forced us to have an unexpected additional night on the island. All hotels were either full or extremely unhelpful. The staff at coconut hale stayed up to coordinate with us through the night and went out of their way to make sure we had a roof over our heads. The house is in a quiet neighborhood with super comfy vibes. We stayed in the Queen room where we had our own fridge and bathroom which definitely made the place feel way more homey. I wish I would have known about this place before because this is definitely where I would have stayed for my trip. Thanks again coconut hale y'all...
