We chose this quaint, rustic cabin in the rain forest near South Point and Green Sands Beach for a fun, unique experience. How fun to be able to take a semi-outdoor shower, hear the Coqui frogs, birds and other wildlife, and to wake up in nature. We were looking forward to purchasing fresh fruit and other items at the little store on the property that we had read so much about. We couldn't wait to meet James and Deanne, as we, too, have a large family. When we arrived, Colleen, an on-site manager ?, warmly greeted us, and told us that our room was ready. She is such a nice person, and a very hard worker. She showed us all around, apologized for the construction and the mud, and told us all about the property. Our room was a cute little cabin (#3) with cute palm trees painted on the walls, and a huge bed. The only bathroom was also very cute, but there are gaps in some of the boards where a person outside could look in if they wanted to. The shower curtain was moldy, and needs replacing and a thorough frequent cleaning. There is a cute open kitchen right next to the bathroom/shower area, which has a microwave, coffee pot, pots, pans, refrigerator, utensils, plates, etc. However, it looks a bit dingy. We were offered good coffee with creamer and sweetener and wonderful fruit for breakfast. The property, unfortunately, doesn't look like the pictures online. They are undergoing some sort of construction right in front of the cabins, which is an eyesore at this point. We heard that they are planning to add an additional bathroom, which will greatly improve the awkwardness of "having to go" when someone is in the bathroom taking a shower or using the toilet. We are not certain of the plan for the large plywood deck out front of the kitchen, though the bench on the road side is quite creative. Across the vast green lawn in front of the cabins there are several big muddy ruts from the construction vehicles. The parking lot is a bit of a distance from the cabins, so we had to walk through wet grass and mud with our luggage to get to our room and each time we went out to explore. Part of this is due to the huge amount of rain which has fallen recently in the area. No precautions were made to protect the grass or to mitigate the mud. We were disappointed that we didn't get to meet James or Deanne at all. Part of the wonderful airbnb experience is getting to meet the hosts, whom we have read so much about in their reviews. The potential for this location to be a quaint restful oasis again is still here, but at this point we did not feel rested...

If you're coming to this island for adventure and beautiful scenery, this is the PERFECT venue for you to stay in. The surrounds of your remote bungalow are sure to relax you and make you feel like you belong on the island. And the proximity to South Point, Green Sands Beach, and Kula Kai Caverns can't be beat! From the Southern Point of the island you can travel up the Western coast to Kona for some amazing snorkeling, or you can travel to Hilo on the Eastern coast for some hiking and adventure. And don't forget about Black Rock Pizza (the best pizza on the island!), Black Sands Beach, and Volcano National Park all being within an...

I was planning to camp out near south point, but it was a rainy day and the thought of setting up a tent in the rain was unbearable. I found this place nearby and was able to check in almost immediately. Friendly people. It's on a farm and there are 4 private cabins for rent- they're all in a line, so close together. The kitchen and bathroom (with fully stocked shower/towels) are shared, but I don't see an issue with that. Beds are comfortable, cabins are breezy and secure. Great location to south point beach. Would probably be great for seeing stars if it weren't cloudy. I'd stay here again in...

We absolutely loved this place. A true Hawaiian experience. Loved the staff, Who made us feel we "lived" in hawaii instead of vacationing in hawaii. We will definitely return.

The owners are amazing. This is definitely a place to go to relax. There's wifi if you can't disconnect. I would recommend this place for sure.
