Beware of this place. Especially if you book through other platforms. I booked this places expecting to see someone like the pictures. The person who came out to greet us was rude right off the bat. Maybe it's because I'm actually local and not a tourist from th mainland. That being said he acted like we shouldn't be there. This is not a family-friendly place at all. He wanted to go to the very strict rules and informed us we were not allowed to use any of the e amenities that were listed as amenities. That we were to only go to a small portion of the property that had no privacy. When I asked about the pool tables and other amenities he told us he wasn't having “campers trash his stuff” The bathrooms were a 5-minute walk from the sites. The pool had dead frogs to n it and was dirty. They didn't even have doors on them really. They whole place I found offputting. The dead animals on a campsite he didn't seem to concerned about or the dog poop everywhere. After looking for a place to put our setup we just didn't feel comfortable or safe there. I went back to the office to try and talk to him we came across a drunk belligerent guest who was screaming and yelling on his phone cussing. It scared me and my family. I recorded the whole thing just in case he assaulted me. I was afraid of him. The owner responded with a smirk “Well he seems upset he had a bad day” ||It is tragic when people might be to Hawaii and cater to only people not from Hawaii. When they treat locals like we are lesser than them. My family and friends enjoy camping and could have spent the weekend at the Hilton. We wanted to try something new. Never again. I'm writing this review with a heavy heart. We didn't stay. We walked away from the place feeling like has we were mainland tourists that treatment would have been better. ||The pictures are not like the actual place at all and the staff hands down have n business in the hospitality industry. Don't give this place your time. So many better places to go...

There are far better options on the island, nicer facilities, in terms of value-for-service this place is awful.

If you do stay beware the enormous centipede's that enter your room at night, they are poisonous and they will bite leaving a long lasting and hideous infection, also beware those stumble-steps indoors and outside, they are steep, slippery when wet, unmarked and poorly lit, use the rails as awkward as they can be and leave your lights on at night, there is little privacy, the walls are thin, the location without interest or resources and the internet poor at best.

The chickens and chicks are great during the day but the roosters untenable when the sun goes down when you find yourself tossing and turning unable to sleep at night long. The wild pigs just outdoors could be a hazard when emerging from that dark scrub next to the residence, indeed this can be a nightmare for small living things and for you if you don't exercise some caution dare I say.

There is no view, one poorly maintained tennis court and an over chlorinated swimming pool, mostly unused and no place to eat, no restaurants nearby except the Hana Hou located miles away and they close early so by all means don't arrive late or you will go hungry, better yet do not arrive at all, save your booking for a better option, pay a little more if you must, or drive the distance and spare yourself the discomfort of this "Big Island Bed and Breakfast". That's my opinion!

And finally, don't deal with owner Kelly beyond paying bills or getting breakfast and don't complain to them about anything for goodness sake, better too offer an online review and/or submit an official complaint to the Hawaii Department of Health or State licensing. Governmental over-site of standards and business accountability are otherwise lacking this far from civility, However if they do get enough complaints maybe some action will be taken with corrections made, or this old house could get sold once again - better...

Big Island Best Campsites. Don't believe it. When we arrived this place looked very nice. We went to camp area & set up our tent in a nice grassy area under the macadamia trees. Went back to office to inquire about restrooms & showers. After searching for 20 min. I found the host. When I asked about showers she treated me like I was asking for something special. She said there was an outdoor shower at end of building around the corner. We go & find a hole in the ground/lava with broken uneven slippery steps down. A shower head above hole. No walls, shower curtain, no nothing. Nowhere to set soap/shampoo. Nowhere to even hang your towel. My husband uses a cane and there was no way he could use that shower. I was told there was a restroom at front of building but I couldn't find it. Went back to campsite and used bushes for restroom. We ate dinner and tried to find a trashcan for our trash but couldn't find one. Went to bed. About 11 pm the hosts St. Bernard dog started barking. This went on all night. Also the farm next door has many roosters that crowed loudly all night. We got no sleep. We packed up because we were not going to stay the second night I had booked. Went to office to check out and ask about trash disposal. Never did find the host. I did finally find the "restroom". It was a screen room where everyone walked by. You could look right in. No privacy. We left and I called later to cancel the second night. This should not be advertised as a campsite. No restroom, dangerous shower, no trashcans, no picnic tables. The ad read "Great place to camp. Best Campsites on the Big Island". No way! There aren't even basic necessities. I Absolutely Do Not...

Day 2 on the Big Island of Hawaii: Hot Spring Soaking. An hour's drive from the hotel through lush tropical rainforests leads to the hot springs by the seaside. The black sand, resembling volcanic ash, frames four small natural hot springs—open-air and free to enjoy. The water was perfectly warm and crystal clear. With few tourists around, it felt like we had the place to ourselves. So relaxing! 😊 A completely different experience compared to hot springs back home. #Hawaii #BigIsland #HotSprings #BlackSandBeach #TravelDiaries #NatureLovers

The dogs are wonderful (* more below). An absolute gem. Bucolic relaxation with friendly locals. Grand common rooms with table games, pool, and a huge video theater with a wall sized screen. There's a place to exercise and a wraparound porch with coffee service, refrigerator, microwave, and macadamia nut cracker for guest use. The rooms are well kept motel style classic mix and match. Because we were traveling as 4 people but not as 2 couples they sussed out our situation and moved us to a room with three beds which was sweet and appreciated. The solar heated salt water pool has both a slide and a giant tiki. The grounds are inviting and pickable with a nice variety but the macadamia nuts are the star. FRESH MACADAMIA NUTS FROM THE TREE ARE ONE OF THE MOST AMAZING THINGS I HAVE EVER TASTED! *The dogs are friendly and respectful. They love being petted AND THEY ALSO CHASE PIGS. Because it is a farm you are staying at. In Hawaii. And there are pigs. I prefer the dogs and, yes, they did wake me up as they launched off the deck the one time last night. I thought it was quaint and I certainly wouldn't complain SINCE I CHOSE TO STAY ON A FARM IN ONE OF THE MOST REMOTE AREAS OF THE ISLAND! Food is scarce around here so make sure you have your dinner secured before 5PM, yes, FIVE.
