Great place to stay...love it!
We stayed at the Kona Bayview Inn for a week and it exceeded our expectations! Thomas and Sharon were really great hosts and are such nice people who truly aim to please! The breakfasts were amazing...every morning they served something different and delicious and there was never a shortage of food! There was always something homemade, hot and yummy and lots of fresh island fruits, many of which were grown on their property. There was Kona coffee (with my husband loves!), a nice selection of island fruit teas and fresh juices, and often they served homemade bread with freshly made preserves. I can’t say enough about how great the breakfasts were...we looked forward to them every morning! We miss them! We stayed in the Honu room and our room was clean, tastefully decorated and had everything we needed. The bed was comfortable and we enjoyed leaving our windows open at night so we could fall asleep listening to the sounds of nature! There were some things available to us in our room which you typically don’t have available to you at other places like a cooler, beach bag, beach mat, beach towels and a standing clothes hanger for drying your clothes outside, and this was all really nice to have! They also gave us snorkel gear and beach chairs to use; and we enjoyed snorkeling at some really great nearby spots. Thomas and Sharon were always so helpful and accommodating and offered wonderful suggestions for restaurants, things to do and places to visit in the area! The Kona Bayview Inn turned out to be exactly the type of place we were looking for as we needed some relaxation time. We took some time to just sit and read and enjoy the beautiful views. We also explored the beautiful property. We also really enjoyed the fantastic sunsets over Kealakekua Bay. This area is very tropical and peaceful; but yet you are not too far from some really great dining spots and town. I really recommend this place and we definitely plan to stay here again...it’s such a...
Read moreThis place is magical! The beds are comfy, the shower was hot, and the room was clean. I'm sorry they didn't have any rooms with two beds, but we made it work (obviously we weren't a couple), but the place was quiet and serene (except for the critters making noise when we were dozing off to sleep), the dog was super friendly (I wanted to take her home with me) and the kitties were just entertaining. We just loved Thomas and Sharon, so accommodating and communicative. Thomas gave us lots of advise about the area, what to do and where to shop, super appreciated all his recommendations. And the breakfasts were out of this world! One morning we had berry french toast with coconut, the other morning we had home made banana bread with this spam and rice casserole. Super yummy, oh yea both mornings with lots of...
Read moreThis is BnBstyle in, with wonderful hosts, Thomas and Sharon. They reconstructed their house so that one of the sections of the L shape of the building has been turned into three hotel-like rooms, each with a comfy bed and private bath. The rooms lead out to a common area on the lanai, where breakfast is served in the morning and sunsets are viewed at night. There is ample space to either mingle with the other guests, or have some more private time. I can’t say enough about the home-made breakfasts, which were hot breakfasts made from scratch, and were served with freshly-picked fruit from the property.|Because the inn is on a hill overlooking the ocean, the view was unbeatable, it was a perfect way to start and end every day, and I can’t recommend...
