Great Camping Area with Views of Beautiful Kiluea Caldra Steam Cloud. Glows at Night. Picnic Tables at each campsite and pit Toliet wirh paved pathway. Could use a Covered picnic area. Enjoyed Several Nights there. Nene area as they visited and walked around eating the grass. Saw a Wild Boar 2x along road into area and many pretty birds. Great overlook with a coveted picnic area 5 miles farther down the road with several great hikes.

Gorgeous site at night. Well kept out house. A little annoying to drive out too and narrow but it makes for a quieter and more peaceful stay so I found it to be worth while.. It became quite chilly in November and we camped without the rain fly because it was so clear. Nenes were easy to find here!

Remote NPS camp. Windy, cold, rainy, sunny, hot, all in the space of 15 minutes. 4 campsites near parking lot, 5 others a hike in. Remote and surreal landscape. Level area for tent and picnic table on each site. Cell service spotty. No available water. Toilet at parking lot.

Off the beaten path. Free camping with Volcano NP admission or annual National Parks pass. Be prepared for lack of shade. There was only one other party at the campground when we camped on Oct 31st. Seeing the red glow of the volcano at night called to mind Mordor. I would definitely return to this campground -- the...

Great primitive campground in a beautiful setting, feels very isolated, the ecology is beautiful. Campers should be aware there is no water, just a pit toilet. It was very windy and we tied up a tattoo to create additional wind break. It felt like being in the Backcountry, no hiking necessary, I...
