Such a great place to stay for our week on the Big Island — I’m so glad we chose this BNB over a resort or any other spot! Mango Sunset is located on a hill about 10 minutes from Kona, which means you’re away from the super touristy chaos of that town. We loved how peaceful, quiet, and beautiful the BNB was. It’s just wonderful waking up to see all the fauna, and then on top of that, have a delicious, fresh breakfast from Heidi on the deck. We stayed in one of the garden side rooms, and I appreciated having an equipped kitchenette (with mini fridge, microwave, fresh coffee from the farm), very clean bathroom with shower & toiletries, and a roomy closet. We had almost all the amenities a normal hotel room would have, plus wonderful hosts. Thank you Dan & Heidi! Heidi regularly used ingredients from the farm for our breakfasts, and it was fun learning about — and trying — new produce. At one point, we brought back fruits from a farmer’s market and Heidi had no problem incorporating them into our breakfast so we could try those too. Then, when one of us sprained her foot, Dan ran over compression bandage and ice packs for her to use. And when we mentioned we were going to the beach one day, they offered us some beach chairs, a mini cooler, an umbrella, and towels for us. Our only regret was not being able to tip them as much as we wanted too — they were awesome! Other things to note, there’s a parking lot that fits 4 cars comfortably, but the turn from the street into the lot can be sharp. The lot is also below the BNB itself, so expect to either walk up the stairs or the hill to get to your room. Also, our room didn’t have AC and there was limited wifi — I was fine since there’s a fan and dehumidifier that worked pretty well, and the connection was actually better compared to other places we visited on the island. Overall, I’m glad we stayed here! If you want a peaceful base with a highly personalized experience, Mango Sunset is the way to go. Forgot to take pics, but below is the BNB’s resident kitty hanging out while we were eating breakfast one day!

YOU MUST STAY HERE! If you wanna get away from the hustle and bustle of life and have a true Hawaiian vacation, please stay here. This place is a little hidden gem up on the hill tucked away about 10-15 minute drive from Kona. I never once locked my car or my room. It is very safe. Beautiful views, extremely peaceful, exquisite hospitality from Heidi and Dan the owners. Stayed here for a week and I did not wanna leave. Next time I go to the big island this is where I will stay. The hosts made it feel like you were at home. Much better than any 5 star hotel I have stayed at. Gourmet home made breakfast every morning, fresh coffee, with most ingredients fresh from the farm. If you really wanna get away, this is the spot to do so. It is a magical experience staying here. Only part I didn’t like was the gate you must manually open and close to protect their crops from pigs. The night after it rains, you can hear the frogs making their unique mating calls to help you go to sleep. It is also a bit chilly (61-64°F) when you wake up for breakfast so I recommend bringing a sweater and some long pants because I was shivering. But once you go down to the beach it is 70°-80°F. Also I must mention you can see the milky way from the place on a clear night.

I honestly wish I had more than 5 stars to give. What an absolute gem of a B&B! Linda is the best - so kind, so helpful, and very responsive. Her breakfasts were delicious (especially the coffee and fresh fruit from the farm!); the rooms are very spacious & have all needed amenities (coffee/tea, hangers, dehumidifier, shampoo/conditioner, etc.); and the location & views were stunning. The property is very well maintained, and we were delighted to meet Melissa the black cat, as well as several chickens, roosters, and baby chicks. We were treated so well and given fantastic recommendations. We can't wait to return in the future. You will NOT be disappointed staying here! ❤️

What a WONDERFUL Escape!!! |This place is close to the Kona airport, but you don’t hear the airport noise at all. Its up on the mountain side and its sooo beautiful! The B&B sits up above the coffee fields and you look out over the coffee tree tops! Its so peaceful here. You can choose to spend the day sitting and relaxing under the gazebo or in your lawn chair watching the beautiful sunsets every night! Its just a short drive to Kona shopping district and the beaches. Its only 1 ½ hrs drive to the other side of the Island so this is a perfect place to stay while exploring all the Big Island has to offer. ||The B&B itself is beautiful, clean and very comfortable. The breakfast every morning was large and delicious and many of the fruits and vegetables being served are grown on the farm. We got a tour of the coffee plantation and all the plants growing on the farm, including the cocoa and banana plants and we got to sample them too! ||The owners, Linda and Dan are wonderful people and very knowledgeable about everything on the property and the Island. We really enjoyed talking to them. ||We are so thrilled that we chose to stay here. We loved it and we highly recommend it to anyone coming to the Big...
