My wife and I discovered this B&B last minute as we were looking to extend our vacation by a couple of days. I called and spoke with Julia and was thrilled to discover that she had one room available on the very short notice that I provided.
We arrived to the property after a day of mountain biking, a bit muddy and quite tired. Julia had a place waiting to store our Mountain Bikes and our room was ready for us and a restful evening. We were greeted at the door, welcomed and walked through the beautiful log home. They have 5 rooms total, (Spring, Summer, Autumn, and Winter rooms plus the Honeymoon Suite) We were in the Spring Room. The room was clean, charming, cozy, and extremely comfortable.
The house itself sits within 20 acres of beautiful pine forest in an incredibly quiet and serene setting and is surrounded by beautiful gardens, a water feature, and other amenities. The wraparound porch and comfortable outdoor seating is accessible from all rooms.
Not only did we have the opportunity to enjoy a delicious breakfast and wonderful conversation both days with the other guests, but we were also were able to relax on the porch in the evening with Julia, her husband Joe, and the other guests to talk about the days adventures and get to know some really wonderful people.
The entire experience was wonderful and we will certainly plan ahead to visit them again when we are back in the area. Why spend money on a boring, sterile hotel room when an experience like Log Spirit Bed & Breakfast is available at a comparable price! Comfortable rooms, beautiful scenery, delicious, home made breakfasts, and incredible kindness and hospitality from the owners!
Thank you Julia and Joe for sharing your beautiful home with us! We look forward to seeing you again in the...
Read moreMy husband and I stayed here for our honeymoon. The location was beautiful but we had numerous issues with payment/the hostess. The hostess, Robin, had us drive to her other business (a hair salon 20 miles away from the B&B) to pay her, because she had left in the morning without telling us. Once we got there our card wasn't running on her card reader. We ended up getting charged an additional $30-$40 (I don't quite remember how much - this was over a year ago) because she had to do multiple transactions. She blamed us and recommended we go to the local library (which was closed at the time) to access wifi to resolve the issue with our bank (of which there were no issues). Long story short, we had to run around all over town to get the stay paid for and ended up getting overcharged in the long run. I wish I could say we would come here again! The location was great, the food was okay (and only at 8am sharp :/), but the hostess was not very apologetic and it was not worth all the hassle. Will look for another place...
Read moreWhat a restful and rejuvenating experience! Unfortunately we only stayed one night but Juliah and Joe have created a wonderful gem in Athol. We were lucky enough to visit with the lovely couple and hear about their wonderful travel stories, how they met, how they came upon log spirit and the story behind this one of a kind. I wish we could have stayed a few extra days - a wonderful getaway with a peaceful environment and much to do within 10-40 minutes! The place was pristine, we stayed in the winter room đ and breakfast far surpassed any expectations! Juliah creates the experience before you even arrive. She called when I booked asked about any allergies, helped with timing and directions and we realized our stomping grounds arenât far apart! After being on the road day after day this was just what I was hoping for and felt straight out of a hallmark movie! They are gracious and kind and I canât wait to go back -...
