The most kind and generous hosts we have ever met! Bill and Sarah were lovely and any and all requests were fulfilled in a timely manner. We stayed in the Nesting cottage and it is quaint with a bird theme throughout. We felt totally rested and relaxed during our stay. We had a power outage, and prior to the storm they prepared us by supplying flashlights and complimentary wood for our fireplace. They advised we may want to fill some pots with water in case of a power failure. The first couple of days during our stay we were feeling a bit under the weather and they dropped off an assortment of teas, which was extremely thoughtful and kind. The cottages on the property are gradually being updated and renovated. As the new owners of Misty Mountain Inn we can say they are constantly busy doing projects and renos and are truly working hard to ensure their guests will have an exceptional experience. We loved seeing all the animals, chickens, ducks, their dogs and sweet cat Akamee (my husband liked calling him Milo…lol) each day. Misty mountain is close to Brasstown Bald and the Appalachian trail if you enjoy nature and hiking. They are also close to town where you can have great meals at places like Sicily’s, Monte Alban, The Skillet, and cafes. However if you enjoy cooking, the cottage has it’s own little well equipped kitchen. If you enjoy thrift shopping they have several stores in town. We enjoyed it so much that we extended our stay! We will be...
Read moreThe Misty Mountain Inn and Cottages were the perfect place for our multi family vacation. We rented the entire inn for our four adult children and their families and my husband and I rented the Mountain Serenity cabin which was right next to the Inn. The Inn has just been renovated and is just gorgeous! Each room has its own vibe and is so tastefully decorated. We enjoyed having the kitchen to make meals and loved having the living room to hang out and play board games. We enjoyed having the beautiful outdoors where we cooked out on the grill, made s’mores at the fire pit, played corn hole, and caught fireflies. ||We ventured off property for a couple of dinners at Lucky’s Taqueria and Cantina and Vincent’s Coppertop Restaurant, and we also picked up yummy doughnuts at G&G Bakery and Cafe. We bought fresh produce from Taters, Maters, and more, shopped at some cute little stores in town, enjoyed wine tasting at Living Waters Winery and Vineyard and brews at Blairsville Brewery Co. We attended the annual Butternut Creek Festival at Meeks Park and took a quick hike to the Helton Creek Falls. This area is not short on fun things to do and we all wished we had more time.||Last, but certainly not least, Sarah and Bill were outstanding hosts. They checked on us frequently and ensured we were enjoying our stay. They gave us lots of local recommendations and we did our best to do them all! This was the perfect family vacation and we highly recommend this place. We...
Read moreWe were in town for two nights in mid-June for a family event and stayed in the Seafarer Suite in the Inn. It was lovely - the room was on the second floor and had a living room area with a couch and a fireplace, and a bedroom area with a king bed (all one room). The room was pretty, decorated with a nautical theme, and the bed was comfortable.
The owners were absolutely wonderful, very friendly and accommodating. We had no problems at all during our stay, but I felt like they would have helped us right away if we'd needed anything. The tv was Roku and it was easy for us to log into our own streaming service accounts, plus it allowed us to set a time to log us back out automatically. We only ate breakfast one morning, but it was delicious - fresh fruit, bacon, french toast bake, and yogurt.
The Inn is an old house, so it's lovely and has a lot of character, but it can also be a little noisy (you can definitely hear it when people are going up or down the stairs). At night, we could hear frogs conversing in the pond, and we saw fireflies. The mountain setting is beautiful. We had a great time and would...
