Mockingbird Mountain Resort — Hotel in Heber Springs

My husband and I took an 8-wk trip across country with our RV. We had booked at this campground for 2 nights as we made our way across the US. We were bitterly disappointed as we navigated the precariously steep entrance to the park and eventually came upon an RV park in disrepair. We discovered the people who ran and maintained the campground when we booked many months in advance of our April 17 arrival had passed along the management to a new group. Our proposed site was almost impossible to get to, with water and electricity issues that would have caused us to tap into other lines.

We were so uncomfortable with the conditions and the elevated, narrow sites, that the young man that was assisting us suggested we might find better accommodations down the road. We thanked him and left for another RV park that luckily had room to take us in for two days. As we learned, the daily rate at this campground was much higher than all other campgrounds across the country.

We immedately called the main number to explain why we had to move locations and were promptly told that we would be charged for the entire stay and would not be issued a refund due to their advanced cancellation policy.

This park was unkempt and poorly maintained, mechanically compromised with water and electrical problems, and dangerous to access with a sizeable RV. It has ended up being the only campground during our 22 stops across the country and back where we felt we needed to leave for safety and security reasons. The campground was almost empty, and we now understand why this was the case.

In a business that relies on good reviews and repeat clientele, it was disappointing to think that we could not reach a reasonable resolution and be provided a full refund for an unacceptable situation and conditions. Even a partial refund and compromise would have...

We didn't know what we were getting into until it was to late. Came here to visit family and thought we would stay a few months. After settling on a price that was not really in our budget, but it was close to my family,we thought we would give it a try. Upon arrival we discovered our Cabin #1 had a serious bug problem. We had Giant Red Wasp on the deck which became worse as the days went on. Two days after we tried to settle in with $400 in groceries,we discovered ants in the kitchen...tried to cram everything in a dorm size refrigerator that didn't work out to good. Going on week 5 we found out why we were itching and waking up with bites on our bodies...Bed Bugs...never had them and never want them again. Tried to address the issue with owner Anthony.. He accused us of bringing them with us. We asked to be moved to another cabin and he said No. Now mind you it's 9:30 at night he told us your welcome to pack and leave that he would refund our money...well Duh!!! Stayed up all night itching and packing our belongings. We threw away all our clothes, suitcases,and dog bed...a total loss over a $1000!!! To sum it all up ...if you enjoy The thought of being stung by GIANT red wasp,ants in your goodies and bites and itchy sores on your bodies,Book now. If not drive on down the road. So, first off, I have be coming to the Greers Ferry, AR since I was a little girl. I have a ton of family that lives in the area. There really aren't a ton of options for reasonable places that allow pets. The area is amazingly beautiful and remote and that is what you are going for. ||||Typically if you are coming to this area it is for the lake!||||Gary, the new owner is one the nicest people I have ever met in my life. My husband and I cannot thank him enough for the generosity this past weekend. We stayed to visit family and brought our dogs along and he was an absolute pleasure to meet and helped meet our requirements with no questions asked! ||||The property is under new ownership and you can tell they are working hard to make some changes for the upcoming years and I look forward to see the changes they are planning.||||The cabins are cute and cozy and come with everything you need to enjoy a nice peaceful getaway.
