This is another one of those Corps of Engineers gems, this time just north of Nashville. When approaching, make sure you stay on 31E until you reach Cages Bend Rd. Our GPS took us on some other roads that were narrow and full of low hanging branches. This is a small park and popular with the locals, so make your reservations early. I believe the water side sites are discounted at $17 instead of $15 with America the Beautiful passes. The bath house was dated but clean. There are also reasonably priced washers/dryers.

This was our first trip as locals to Cages Bend. We stayed in site #15 for several days and then moved to site #21. Site #21 we really liked as it was concrete and had steps to a concrete patio area. Site #15 was very shaded but the maple tree made a real mess of the cars and trailer. Roads are narrow and windy getting into the campground. Kudos to you all with big rigs that are able to park them like a boss! Host was extremely friendly and helpful. Photos are of site #21 which is awesome!

I feel safe at this campground. Many of the camping spots are right by the lake. The bath houses are just like any other bath house. One big difference about the bath house is that the water in the shower will stay on as long as you need it. Also there is a big private handicapped/family restroom. There is a nice play ground. Not much room for hiking here but the water toys like jet skis are great! Campers are nice and clean.

Made a reservation online. Pulled into park around 2:00 pm and office was closed. Sign on door said office open Monday’s until 4:00 with no explanation why office was closed. Drove to site and hooked up. Site was level and clean. Walked back up to office about an hour later to register but still unable to due to office being closed. Night was peaceful except for early fireworks two days befor 4th of July. They stopped by quiet hours at 10:00 pm. Woke up next morning office closed. Maybe due to being close to July 4th. Went back to our site and the camphost rode up on his golf cart with an unpleasant tone asking if we had a reservation. LOL really? Anyway husband able to calm him down and inform him his paper work was printed out before our reservation was placed online. Now, knowing we had a reservation he said “Well I have someone coming to this site today.” It is only 10:00 am we have until 2:00. Understandably no one likes to be treated this way. Bathrooms not so great so showered in my own rv. The view of the lake from our camp site made it all worth while. Headed to another COE today and hoping the...

Got a bit of attitude. We stopped at the office which was closed/unmanned. We walked back after occupying our site at 4:30. Still no one in the office. There was no sign with a reasonable explanation so we returned to our site and went back to check in just before five. Still no one there. The next morning at about 10:00 the host pulls up in the golf cart with attitude talking about the site being reserved that day. Mind you check-out time had not yet occurred. Then he proceeds to ask me my name and when I registered and so on... He checks his paperwork and says he doesn’t have my reservation. I asked him when he printed out those reservations (I can see the date and time on the paperwork) he then says “Oh, you must have checked in online after I printed this out. Intelligence and hospitality must not be a prerequisite to host at this COE. Look like folks have moved in semi-permanently as well. It’s a same when hosts are rude to folks utilizing the COE Parks for what they were intended for while they allow the local populace to convert the COE into a trailer park summer home for...
