We recently got married at Pats Peak. The henniker motel was an excellent option as it is located right at the base of the mountain. A few of the rooms smell like chlorine but the are adjacent to the pool. A year before our wedding, I contacted Tim, the owner regarding blocking off the whole hotel (20 rooms) for our guests. He stated I could do that as long as 10 of the rooms were booked for 2 nights. I stated that was not a problem. He then called me a few days later stating that a wedding the night before ours wanted to book 10 rooms for Friday night only. I stated that I could give up 10 rooms for Friday night as we needed all 20 for Saturday. I called in June of this year when my invitations went out and asked how many of my blocked rooms were available. Tim told me that 7 were booked for Friday and 13 for Saturday. He would not provide me the names of my guests that had booked. I then received a call from my mother in law to be stating that he told her I only had 10 rooms for both nights. I called and Tim said “sorry you misunderstood” I stated I did not miss-understand, he double booked my rooms. He did not provide any compensation for his mess up. He was not very apologetic either.
When I contacted pats peak regarding our hotel issue and other hotels they recommended, they were not surprised that there were issues with the henniker motel.
Fast forward to this past weekend when we had our wedding. Some of our guests stated that they were told different night minimums, whether it was 1 night, 2 nights or 3 nights. Many people were told different numbers. So most of our guests stayed elsewhere.
Day of the wedding our guests found bed bugs a few of the rooms. When brought to the attention of Tim the owner, he did not have concern for the people checking in after and did not even advise those checking in that there were bedbugs found. He stated the cleaning of the rooms were thorough and that this was “the first time” he’s ever had these. With the amount of bugs found in MULTIPLE rooms I feel like this has been a problem. So if you have stayed recently please be wary.
The state has been notified.
I strongly recommend you seek hotel options elsewhere if your wedding is...
Read moreOur experience at the Henniker Motel in Henniker NH was nice. We stayed for 2 nights - my husband, myself and our 14 year old. I had called a couple of times prior to our visit and Tim answered all of our questions, was pleasant to speak with and fulfilled our requests. The motel is so close and convenient to Pats Peak Ski area, we could walk over. I was able to purchase my ski lift and rental ticket at the front desk at a discount. It was quiet & clean. A bit outdated, but acceptable. Floors were more modern, laminate plank flooring (vs rugs which was great, less dusty and able to be cleaned better). Linens were professionally serviced, crisp and comfortable. Beds were comfortable. The staff (Tina) and owner (Tim) were pleasant, personable, knowledgeable and efficient. The Keurig machine in the lobby was always full and ready to use with a variety of K-Cups. Our room had a microwave, refrigerator, hot shower, plenty of room to put bathroom items, TV with a zillion channels, blow dryer. We brought food and could even take a break from skiing to come back to our room for lunch and change into dry clothes for second 1/2 of day. There are a few restaurants & stores in the small college town. Very cute and classic NH. We would love to go back to enjoy a warmer...
Read moreHenniker Motel was perfect for our slope side getaway. I didn’t know what to expect with the mixed reviews online, but we were very happy with our stay. Room 9 had vinyl flooring, clean white linens on the beds, and it looks like the walls were freshly painted. The owner, Tim was so accommodating from time of booking and throughout our stay. Upon arrival, we parked outside our room, got dressed to ski, and walked to the chairlift. You cannot beat the location!||After a day of skiing, the indoor heated pool was awesome for our family. The Keurig machine in the lobby by the pool was great. The cozy room next to the pool with the wood burning fireplace and lots of seating was a gem. We ordered pizza from Western Ave pizzeria and they delivered and Tim offered plates, napkins and utensils and showed us how the coffee tables lifted so we could sit on the comfy couches and eat by the fire. ||I would highly recommend staying here. It was a clean and comfortable place to stay so we could ski and use a heated pool in February, which was perfect for our family with young kids. We will definitely be back next school...
