My friend and I stayed at Zion Glamping Adventures last weekend. The place was easy to find and sits in a ravine surrounded by red bluffs. White canvas tents can be seen dotting the area along the bluffs and a common area with bathrooms/showers. There was some confusion about how to contact us and so we didn’t get the preliminary welcome text with check-in instructions, but no worries. When we arrived, we were greeted by Marcello and …? I think the other person was Phil. Marcello gave us the grand tour and we were able to pick which tent we wanted according to the parameters we booked. We chose tent number 8 near the bathrooms. We were also introduced to Wilbur the pig and Princess the miniature horse, who, by-the-way was nearly ready to pop from pregnancy. They told us she was due any day. Marcello told us about the place and showed us what improvements they’d made so far as well as what improvements are going on now and planned. Their ideas are fun and fresh, and it was nice to see them investing back into their business. There are plans for a pool area, new yoga tent and stage area. We were shown the kitchen area we could get morning coffee, and the common area where we could participate in nighttime fires and smores. I was a little disheartened with the price-per-night amount versus the amenities offered. This was my first glamping experience and I think I expected something different...more...for the money. (Be careful when booking. I thought I was spending $180/night and it wound up being $275/night. The pricing varies depending on the night/s you book.) That being said, the tents themselves were in good shape and clean. They are made well with canvas tops lined to tarp-like floor. Some of the tents had some wind damage but we were told new tents had been ordered and they had patched up the couple of places. The wind blows extremely hard at times in that part of Utah and so the issues were not surprising. Our tent had a trailer-sized king bed, a couple of wooden stump tables, 2 towels, a lamp, a sofa/bed, and a little table with chairs and a tissue box. It was cute and comfortable. We did find out that Wilbur is the token rooster of the camp😊He was spot on around 7am with snorts, snuffles, and squeals until he felt secure everyone had their morning wakeup call. (Don’t stay in a tent near the animals if you want a quieter atmosphere.) The animals didn’t bother me, and I figured they’d let me know if anything unwanted came into camp😊 Oddly enough, early Sunday morning we heard Princess let out 3 loud whinnies within about a 3-minute period. We had gone to bed late and so I figured it was between 3 and 4 in the morning we heard Princess. I turned to my friend and whispered that we should start counting whinnies in case she is going into labor. There were no more sounds and we fell back to sleep. In the morning we were busy getting ready to check out and I hadn’t thought about it again. That is until Marcello asked me if I’d seen the new colt!!!! Yes…precious Princess had given birth! My last thoughts on Zion Glamping Adventure are that I would definitely stay there again! I would urge people that are unfamiliar with the area to do a little research on the locals as well so you can be respectful to their culture. Kind of an odd thing to put in a review I suppose, but with today’s world the way it is, a little understanding can go a long way. We don’t have to agree, just...

The tents are basic, but have comfy beds with bedding, a heater / air conditioning unit, a power bar for charging your devices, and a small cafe table with 2 chairs. We were fortunate in that we were able to select from 4 of the available tents which are all situated in different locations in the campground. We selected one that was midway up the hillside offering an elevated view of the common areas, private "deck"/"porch" area, but easy access to the bathrooms. One night was stormy and wet with rain mixed with snow. The tent was dry and the heater kept us toasty all night. The heater fan was a bit loud but the sound of the rain on the tent overcame it easily. We were pleasantly surprised by the big campfire area where all the guests could sit and share stories of their trip while roasting marshmallows and hotdogs. Zion Glamping provided crackers, marshmallows, nutella and roasting sticks for everyone to share which was perfect for the kids! And, on our first night one of the guests kindly shared hotdogs and buns with everyone to roast on the fire! It was quite a community experience that we didn't get anywhere else. Of course, if we wanted to, we could have returned to our tent with its own private firepit, but sitting and chatting with other travellers was right up our alley. Location-wise, it's not ideal if your main goal is to visit Zion national park. It's a 55min drive to the main park entrance which isn't a big deal in the off and shoulder seasons, but it could affect your itinerary if you're there during peak season and need to factor a shuttle in from Spingdale into the park. Groceries are actually quite nearby in Colorado City. Bee's Marketplace is huge and has everything you need and it's only a 10min drive from the site. Finally, our hosts Steve and Marcel were amazing. Incredibly kind and helpful. You just feel at ease the second you arrive there. I'd definitely stay...
Read moreWe had an awesome time here! Fred and Shane are both super awesome people, really friendly, and really accommodating. They are continuously adding new features to their campsite. They own the mountain side and sounds like they have some awesome plans for the future! By the sound of it there will be places for everyone to stay. We stayed in one of the tepees with a queen bed. There was a couch inside, a nice shady tree area outside, a grill, and your own private fire pit with chairs. They also have a communal area which was nice to sit by the fire and get to know the other guests
This location is gorgeous, the views at night are really great. You can see every star in the sky. If you go right down the road there is a 2 hour hiking trail called Water Canyon Trail (if you do the full loop it is like 6 hours) at the mid point of the hike there is spring water coming out of the rocks that you can drink. Seriously the best water I have ever had, it is extremely refreshing. If you also take a 30 min drive you can see some really cool coral pink sand dunes. I suggest having Fred take you out on the 4-wheeler! It was a blast.
The other huge plus is that this campsite is centrally located between Zion, Bryce, and the Grand Canyon. Zion is about an hour away, Bryce and hour and a half, and the Grand Canyon North Rim is about two hours. It is a really awesome spot to camp for several days and do day trips to each National Park. We had never been to any of them (besides my wife going to the Grand Canyon when she was younger) and we were able to see all of them within our stay.
I highly recommend staying here. This was our honeymoon trip and nothing in the world could have been better. Fred took us to the lodge they are building and gave us some really cool history about the town. Shane took us up Water Canyon (He and my wife did it barefoot!). The spot and those two really made our trip. We will be doing yearly trips because of them and this...
