I was excited to stay 2 nights in the Wagon with a private deck/BBQ/Firepit to enjoy sunsets & stargazing (which I was told was one of the best features of this campsite). Upon arrival, at 4:30 PM on 7/7/22, it was a sweltering 101 degrees out. The check in host, Lara, was very kind & helpful at carrying my firewood/charcoals lighter fluid all purchased at the camp office, up to the wagon- Sundance Kid was the first 'try'. After climbing the steep stairs with items, she opened the wagon to find it was not cleaned after the previous guests. So we went down the stairs and I backed my car up to the Jesse James wagon. Again, Lara carried up my camp office purchased items and I put on hiking shoes to better navigate the stairs. This wagon was very clean, but 10-20 degrees hotter than the outside. Lara turned on the "AC" which blew even air hotter than inside the wagon- it was supposed to cool down after a few minutes, but never did. After making 2 trips up to the wagon, the AC unit was off. Other guests were checking in near me, and Lara was helping them. When she was finished, I asked her about the AC not turning on and she stating that electricity at Zion View Camp is SOLAR (kudos for going green) but the system blew a breaker because of too much usage (only 3/4 wagons were occupied, not sure how many tents). The electrician would be there within 30-60 minutes to make repairs (if he has the necessary equipment). I asked if they “ran out" of electricity often and she said 2-3 times per week. It seems that perhaps the solar panels are not adequate for the summer AC usage? I asked if there was a guarantee that the electrician would be able to repair the electric power since the solar panels appear to be lacking in adequate power to run the campground... she said it’s been fixed before, so most likely yes. When I asked if the AC unit in Jesse James would blow colder air and cool down the wagon, she could not guarantee that it would because it usually just takes a minute or 2 to cool down (it ran for about 7 minutes with hot air only until the power went off for 5 and then restarted with hot air again). At this point, I was not willing to 'risk' staying in a wagon that was well over 100 degrees without stable electricity source or a functioning AC unit that blew cool air. I cancelled my stay because the wagon sold to me (online with booking.com) was not equipped with an AC unit that blew cold air or had a stable/ continuous electric supply. This Glamp experience would have been a 10/10 if the wagons were pre-cooled prior to arrival with a reliable energy supply. Perhaps spring camping would be ideal if the energy supply remains limited? The site is beautiful, clean, rustic. The host, Lara, was patient and kind. I returned by purchased items, but Lara did not know how to put credit back on my credit card so I had to dispute the charges as I returned all of the items unopened. I called booking.com to inform them that the stay did not happen because the experience was not as advertised, without a functioning AC unit or stable electric power. I believe that this will be a WONDERFUL Glamp ground once the issues with sourcing the electricity and functioning AC units...

Zion View Camping is truly a wonderful camping experience! Our tent site was perfectly set up with a grill, and to our surprise, it came with all the grilling utensils we needed. Charcoal and firewood were available for purchase, and they even supplied lighter and lighter fluid—something we’ve never seen at other campgrounds.
The shared restrooms were spotless, with good running water, and the hot water actually got hot! It made the stay so much more comfortable.
The host was incredibly attentive. They responded promptly to our questions and even reached out shortly after we checked in to make sure everything went smoothly. That kind of thoughtful service is rare and really felt like a prestigious, elite-class experience. The on-site support was exceptional as well, with friendly stewards available—even at 8:30 PM—to help with general questions.
Before our arrival, the host sent us an image with clear instructions on how to find the campsite, which made check-in simple. Getting to the campground itself added to the adventure—once you leave the main paved road, if your GPS misses the entrance off the main paved road you get a short 3–5 minute 4x4 drive through sand, mud, and dirt. It was thrilling every time we entered and exited the site, like a mini off-road adventure built into the trip.
The images online are true to life, and everything matched what we expected. Just one tip for warm climate traveler's: it does get a little chilly at night, especially if you’re used to living in warmer desert climates year-round, so be sure to pack accordingly.
Overall, Zion View Camping delivered far beyond expectations, with thoughtful touches, clean facilities, attentive hosting, and an adventurous yet comfortable setting. We can’t wait...
