2024 stay review - This past weekend, my husband and I had the pleasure of staying at Freedom Ridge Cabins for the second time, and once again, it was an exceptional experience. Nestled in the beautiful surroundings of Hill City, South Dakota, these cabins continue to impress us with their comfort, convenience, and breathtaking views.

From the moment we arrived, we were reminded of why we loved this place so much. The view from the cabin is simply stunning, providing a serene and picturesque backdrop that instantly puts you at ease. The conveniences offered within the cabin, from the well-equipped kitchen to the cozy family room, made our stay incredibly comfortable and hassle-free.

One of our favorite features is the front porch. We spent hours relaxing there, soaking in the tranquil atmosphere and enjoying the fresh air.

We can't wait to return to Freedom Ridge Cabins. It has become our go-to destination for a relaxing and rejuvenating getaway in the Black Hills. If you're looking for a peaceful retreat with all the comforts of home, I wholeheartedly recommend staying at Freedom Ridge Cabins.

_ 2023 stay review - I had the pleasure of staying at Freedom Ridge Cabins in Hill City, South Dakota, with 3 friends last week, and I must say it was an absolutely fantastic experience. From the moment we arrived, we were taken aback by the sheer beauty and comfort of the cabin. First and foremost, the cabin was the epitome of cozy and spacious for our group of four adults. With a bedroom featuring a full bath, a welcoming loft area, and a second bathroom, we had all the space we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The cabin's layout allowed us to have our own privacy while also providing a warm and communal atmosphere. One of the highlights of our stay was the firepit where we roasted marshmallows and shared stories under the starry night sky, making memories that will last a lifetime. The cabin's family room was another cozy spot, perfect for winding down after a day of exploring the nearby attractions. We enjoyed the warmth of the fireplace. The fully supplied kitchen was a true blessing; we had everything we needed to prepare our own meals, which was not only convenient but also allowed us to save on dining expenses. One of the most impressive aspects of our stay was the exceptional service provided by the owners. When we encountered a reservation mix-up, they were incredibly accommodating and went out of their way to ensure our comfort and satisfaction. Their commitment to making our stay as enjoyable as possible left a lasting impression on us. Our stay at Freedom Ridge Cabins in Hill City, South Dakota, was nothing short of perfect. The cabin's beautiful design, amenities, and the warm hospitality of the owners made it a truly memorable and enjoyable experience. I wholeheartedly recommend Freedom Ridge Cabins to anyone seeking a peaceful, comfortable, and memorable getaway in the Black Hills. We can't wait to return for another...

Great place to stay, located just outside of Hill City, nice quiet place to stay within the middle of the hills, no need to fight traffic, or a packed campground. The cabin we stayed in was furnished with all the things your typical apartment would have, not a hotel room. From pulling right off the highway, it is well marked, the road leads you up behind the owners home to the cabins, ample parking, right in front of the cabin, with a back porch, gas grill, and a firepit out the backside. You have access to a kids play area, with a playsystem as well. Wild raspberry plants around each cabin keep thr wildlife around to see as well. You can spend hours watching thr chipmunks if you have some sunflower seeds. Had one minor mechanical issue halfway through the stay, the owned was on thr spot and within 30 mins had stopped by and fixed the issue. Very friendly and nice people. The interior of the cabin was open and fully furnished, plenty of room for the 9 people that were staying. WiFi was full service, and there was a smart TV available, but we never needed it as it was just so relaxing to sit out back and enjoy thr peace. Highlight was hearing the steam whistle from the 1880 train from time to time. Just down the road is a Dairy Twist with great food and Ice-cream. This will be my first choice for a place to stay when returning to thr Black Hills. Major plus to the fact this is a family owned Veteran...

Hands down one is the best experiences we’ve ever had traveling!! Wish we could give them more than 5 stars! The cabins and surroundings are absolutely beautiful, pristine & centrally located so we were within close proximity to all the places we wanted to visit. Chace & Leslie are so attentive, helpful & the nicest people you could ask to host you. I originally booked their cabin through a booking.com link on a travel blog. Booking.com canceled our reservation with no notice to us, even though Freedom Ridge Cabins received our deposit to hold the room. We didn’t notice until the day before we were due to arrive and were looking for check in instructions. Our original cabin had already been rebooked. Panic set in, but Chace was so reassuring that he would help us work everything out. He called other local cabin owners to help us figure out our stay and we were still able to stay with them for most of our time in the black hills. He spent so much time helping us & making sure we were taken care of, even though it wasn’t his problem. (Booking claimed their system “flagged” our reservation but was unwilling/unable to tell me why. They just said “good luck finding accommodations” & offered no assistance at all. Never book third party! Always book directly through Freedom Ridge’s website.) We enjoyed our trip so much our family wants to return next year. And we will definitely be staying at Freedom...

This was the perfect location for my family to meet up and stay for a week long vacation in the Black Hills. We weren’t far from Mount Rushmore, Crazy Horse Memorial, Bear Country, Sylvan Lake, hiking trails, Hill City, and Keystone. We had two great looking, well built cabins that backed up to the play area, which my grandkids LOVED! If we weren’t away sight seeing, they were playing outside! Each of our cabins had two bathrooms, which for our crowd was a plus. The cabins are off the highway far enough to not hear the traffic and the setting is so pretty. A family of deer were in the back yard early one morning. We even took a family photo right next to our cabins. We would stay here again.

We stayed in the Mule Deer Run cabin (the smallest cabin on the property) and absolutely loved it! It was so cute and perfect! And even tho it was close to the residents house and right on the road, it was still so peaceful and beautiful! The owners were wonderful to work with-quick to respond, so helpful, etc.! The cabin was clean, equipped with everything we needed, and very reasonably priced! And was a short drive off the main road and only about 5 miles from Hill City!! We will definitely consider staying here again on our next trip up to the Black Hills!
