Rainbow — Hotel in Hillcrest Heights

My husband and I came to Rainbow RV Resort this winter for the first time and we are just over the top happy with this place. From the moment you drive in, you can see just how beautiful it is. The entrance is definitely a WOW factor. The whole park is lovely. There are so many things to do; the list seems endless at times and you can join into as many as you want or not. I personally love the Shuffling I do each morning and my husband loves to play Pickle ball. The entertainment that they bring in here has been nothing but fantastic. The dances are always pack and everyone has so much fun. ||Everyone who comes to visit us is impressed. We have friends who just bought a place in here and will be coming in April and then all next winter. They too said this park gives them everything they are looking for in a winter resort. ||If you are just coming for a short time or a long time, I really recommend this resort. BTW..when I say resort, I mean a resort. This is not your typical camp ground. It is a 55 plus resort. Hope to see...

We had come to stay for a month and ended up staying for 3 because of COVID-19. We feel so lucky to have been there when the virus hit. We felt totally safe as everyone was using masks and socially distancing. We loved this resort- so many activities and amenities. The resort is beautiful and immaculate; the full-time people were very welcoming. Combination of full-timers, snow birds and shorter-stay RVers. It truly is a hidden gem. The closest towns are Avon Park and Lake Wales - both about 15 minutes away and have choices for grocery stores. Frostproof itself is very small with one grocery. The resort had two Sandhill cranes who had just had babies when we arrived. So much fun to watch them grow up and fly during our stay. A highlight for us. Manager is exceptionally responsive and...

Just dropping something off to a resident there. We moved out. We were full time residents for 14 years. But since Sun Communities bought the resort they have gone up on their rent every year. They forget we are retired people on pensions that do not get raises! So we went elsewhere in FL to a big house with a pool and paying alot less in monthly payments. Besides while we were there, there was a manager who called the house inspector on us, saying we did not have permits (we did). Wrote a nasty letter to another neighbor saying I turned them into the housing inspector, when she did it. So I have to tell you, it was time for us to leave. The bad was starting to overtake the good. Which is a shame cause the people are fabulous. We truly loved our neighbors and all the friends...
