What can I say about Long Creek, nothing to really capture the wonderful stays here! Our family has been staying here annually in February for over 5 years now and we've loved every visit! The space is secluded and quietly nestled in a hills side right above the lake. From the natural wildlife, to the wonderful amenities, you'll love every moment here! Let's start with the homes. They are beautiful 3,500 square foot duplexes with attached two car garages. They have 2 bedrooms and a office/ day bed room upstairs, along with two bathrooms. Downstairs are two bathrooms, two bedrooms and a theatre room! The upstairs houses the main kitchen with ample kitchen cabinet space for groceries so you don't have to eat out if you are looking to save money. It also has a beautiful open air deck with patio chairs, love seat and awesome gas grill. Downstairs hold a kitchenette with bar fridge, ice maker, microwave and sink. It also has a pool table, poker table, complete with poker set, and dominos. The theatre room is just plain AWESOME! With amazing lighting and movie poster, projector and all of the power in your hands with a crazy awesome touch screen remote! The house has two master bedrooms, one up and one down stairs. The home is complete with a laundry room just off the kitchen leading to the garage with full size washer and dryer and detergent. Moving on to amenities! With this property being owned by the same as Big Cedar Lodge, you have access to all of the wonderful activities and fun over there along with a free shuttle to take you there if need be! They have a wonderful swimming pool, both indoor and out, complete with small water slide inside and lazy river outside. So many other things happening at Big Cedar, you'll simply have to check their website for more. They were just this year working to finish the new Lodge (which is more of a colossal building than the word lodge really leads you to believe) that will house on-site amenities and rooms! They have completed the 18 hole mini golf course that my 4 year old greatly approved of! This mini golf course would be great for the family or a real "pro" mini golfer (if that's a thing). They also have a 24 hour fitness space, which is a modified downstairs of one of the housing units. Though it's a bit cramped, it's still got plenty of options. So in summary, though it's a bit pricey, the simple fact that you could easily and comfortably sleep 12-16 people, if you split the cost could really make the stay manageable! But make sure to car pool. You've got a two car garage, along with a short driveway in front of it but very little curb parking is available. Though extra parking is available up near the guard shack. And as I said, it's built on the side of a hill so be ready for some...
Read moreWell, where to begin... first of the place is nice, it definitely has a lot of great amenities and it has beautiful views. Now, let me tell you about my experience here...
#1 complaint) my family and I decided to stay here for 1 night on bonus time( if you are a timeshare member you know what I’m talking about) because this place has a two minimum stay for timeshare holders, you technically pay for two nights.. when you stay for one night. (Change your policy Bluegreen! of charging us two nights when it should be one night for members).
#2 complaint) .. this complaint upsets me a lot. So since we stayed here for one night on a Saturday, the next day was check- out but as we know check out is at 10am. That morning I felt so nauseous, dizzy and I had a bad knee, so it was taking me longer to get ready and I was in pain meds.. well I decided to call the front desk and James answer the phone.. I told him if I could have at least a 15 minute or 30 minute later check out - after I had explain to him my condition. Well.. James said to me “unfortunately check out is at 10am and we already have our limit on check outs”, very rude by the way. ( I was like, did he not hear what I said?!) I told him nicely again if he could give me just 15 minutes at least or to check with his supervisor for that request, he then again said “No, still check out is at 10am” (James the front desk guy didn’t even bother to accommodate me or ask his superior for my request or try to help me at all). This is to management, please re-train your staff or hire better staff that will care for its customers, greets people nicely and likes working at the cliff.. us customers don’t like rude people, nor for them to accomate us.. we come here to relax not to be treated poorly.
#3 complaint) Who the heck has check in at 4pm?! all other hotels have check in at 2pm or 3pm, oh and check out is at 10am, when a lot of places is at 11am or 12pm.. we don’t even get a day at this place.. this one is for you management/owners!!! .. change your check in/check out times.. it’s frustrating! I know I’m not the only one complaining about this because I always hear it from your own...
Read moreOMG - all of the reviews make this place sound fabulous and we were so looking forward to a great experience for our anniversary getaway, instead the Lodge at the Cliffs was so disappointing!!!||||Pros: ||The 2 bedroom layout. ||The shuttle. ||Management provided the fly swatter.||Mini-golf on property if you can find it on the other side of the parking lot,||||Cons: ||The 11 flies that we swatted in our room within the first 24 hours...then 5 more in the next 2 days. The roach that I killed on the patio.||The layer of dust on the top of the headboard, on the mantel and hearth at the fireplace, on the nightstands, lamps, coffee table and living room chairs. ||The squeaking refrigerator door, and the fact that it was not turned on 'Cold' before we arrived. ||No basic condiments at all! Bring your own salt & pepper packets. ||Cheap paper towels provided.||One roll of tissue paper provided per bathroom.||The location is so remote -- no restaurants on property.||No accessible walking paths.||Terrible wayfinding signs - wander around to find the small pool and hot tub, or the grilles that are available to guests.||Front desk staff seem to not want to be bothered with 'non-owner' guests.||First floor room.||||And lastly - the cable went out the first night we were there, around 7 pm, and did not come back on until the next morning around 8 am. That was the best they could do??!!||||They did send someone in to dust, but really??!! Do they not check the rooms before guests arrive??!!||||We were at The Cliffs after buying a Bluegreen vacation package at Bass Pro. We were sold a package at the Big Cedar Lodge but somehow were switched to The Cliffs. We were told that we would receive a Welcome Packet when we checked in with information about the amenities, etc. - Nope! No package ever provided. And a $20.74 marketing fee was a big surprise. Why were we charged that??!!||||Big thumbs down for Bluegreen Vacations and The Cliffs at Long Creek. They need to get their act together if they want to truly be a 5...
