My family came here for a little vacation in July 2020 and had a thoroughly delightful time. We stayed in a single, two-bedroom cabin which had plenty of room for my wife, myself, and my adult son. We had a few minor problems (no internet on the free wifi, circuit breaker popped) but once we informed the staff, it was quickly corrected. We rented a boat for tubing and water skiing, swam in the lake off the dock, played horseshoes, and slept great.||||A couple of items of note:||||1) The cabin size was clean and comfortable. It is not cavernous, but it isn't cramped either. It consisted of two bedrooms, a single bathroom, and a living dining area. The queen beds do fill up the bedrooms, so there is not a lot of extra space in there. There were no dressers and one bedroom did not have a closet area. This wasn't a problem for my son, who lived out of his suitcase. Our bedroom did have a closet area where my wife hung up her clothes. The bed was firm, but not rock hard. Air conditioning was great! Cabin was insulated enough such that we didn't hear the rooster crowing in the morning. Bathroom had a tub/shower and was small, but not cramped. Stove, microwave, refrigerator all worked great. Dining table sat the three of us comfortably and the sleeper couch was big enough to sit the three of us for some evening TV viewing.||||2) One of the docks had ladders for getting into and out of the lake. You can easily swim off the dock. It had benches for just sitting and enjoying the view of the lake and surrounding area. The lake temperature was perfect for swimming! You do have to be careful as boats use this dock and the one right next to it, so there is some traffic. Not someplace I would let young children swim unsupervised. ||||3) The pool was crystal clear. Didn't swim in it, but many people were.||||4) Green Valley has its own boats. Was able to rent from them when everybody else was booked up. They don't have their own ski or tubing equipment, however. For that you need to take a quick hop across the the lake (5 minutes, if that) to Ski Shack on Indian Point.||||5) One thing I didn't pay attention to when I booked my reservation was where this place was actually located. Thought we would be close to Branson, but it is a little drive. This resort is located on the next peninsula over from Indian Point. Branson was a 30 minute drive away. Certainly livable, but be aware of its location. (Silver Dollar City is about 15 minutes, and the nearest Walmart is also 15 minutes.) A benefit of this location is it's QUIET! If you're used to all the traffic driving around Branson this place is a welcome reprieve. There were times in the evening when I was driving on the roads around Green Valley when I didn't see a single car, either in my directly or coming at me.||||In summary it was a delightful stay. It earned every five star rating I gave it. We will certainly...
Read moreHow I earth does this place have such a high review? Staying here overnight was like practicing for the post-apocalypse. Only one key of the two sets (of 4 keys total) worked, which was difficult to figure out using our cellphones as flashlights since we arrived after dark and there were no outside lights. Once we finally got inside we were hit in the face with the strong odor I can only describe as chemicals from the 1980s and old hamburger grease. We went to the windows to air the place out and met several 8-legged inhabitants of the shabby, knotted curtains. After five minutes of being foolish enough to sit on the couch fit for the side of the road or perhaps a frat house basement, I found myself breaking out in a hot itchy rash. Giving up watching the only TV to move into the hopefully less rash-inducing bedroom, I found myself freezing, so I went over to turn on the heat. It said it was 89 degrees on the obviously broken thermostat. The fire alarm was torn out of the wall. There were Ramen noodles in the vents--I hope those were noodles and not worms. The skylight was broken and covered in debris. There were scratches on the walls that looked like Freddy Krueger's handiwork. The place was so gross. It was not a "cabin" it was a disgusting little trailer. The next morning, our ice cold showers (the hot water did not work) were the last straw. We called Expedia to change our second night's stay to new lodging. We were told that the excuse given for the unfit conditions was that they "didn't have time to get the place ready," and while we didn't get reimbursed for that first horrible night, we got out of paying for the second night so we booked elsewhere. When we went to drop off our key at the office at 8:15, it was still not opened even though the sign said the office opened at 8 so we never got to interact with management. As we started up the car we watched a stray dog eating spilled garbage in front of the office and thought it was the perfect ending to our...
Read moreFirst off, I don’t ever want to leave a less than great review but this was a bit of a disaster. The cabin was very run down on the exterior and the interior was redone but very shoddy. Ants took over our food, the sofa beds were unusable due to gross mattresses and puke on one pullout. Our bed had stained bedding and the a/c barely cooled. There was a very gross full bucket under the sink with fowl smelling water. The deck was not good, boards were coming up on the one side of the cabin. I messaged our host and she did get back to us and apologized. Becky, the grounds supervisor was wonderful. She tried to accommodate us by contacting our host Lily who recommended us move to a different spot. Now we traveled with disabled elderly people and our new spot was up over 20 stairs which caused my mother to cry because she couldn’t get up them and ended up having blood pressure issues requiring a paramedic on one of our outings. I voiced my concerns to our host who again apologized but couldn’t help us as she was booked. As I stated earlier Becky the groundskeeper was so sweet and so empathetic. We just feel very let down and it really caused health issues for our disabled parents. This property needs help and for over $1000 we really feel like we were overcharged and misled with the accommodations. Lily was nice and did say if we wanted to go somewhere else she’d refund the rest of our stay but that’s never possible during the summer on a last minute basis. We feel she should have refunded us part of the cost after what we went through and the conditions of...
