This is a really clean place and nice park. There are a few reasons why we wont be back (again this is based on individual preferences)
Out lot was full of sand and when it rained, it turned into a mud pit. (Imagine running after a 2 year old).
There are about 1000 rules here it seems and are very strict. We thought we could be able to build fires and that is not even allowed.
No one comes outside. Everyone stays in their camper so it almost looks like this is preferred to a way older community (ages 60 on up).
I had to wait 10 minutes for the front desk lady to get off of the phone. She was talking to her manager and I had to listed to them talk about the problematic tenants of the park.
It's not near the beach (its 7 miles) but the pier is close to the sound.
There is a sheriff that circles the place about 100 times a night. I get that you want to be safe but dang, it feels like they are looking for someone to make a mistake. I didn't even feel comfortable drinking a beer right outside my camper.
We are used to campground and not an RV park. RV park is where people bring their camper and park it forever. There is clearly a difference between the two and now that I know, we wont be choosing an RV park again.
To be fair, if you are looking for a place to retire in a motorhome, this would be the place and I would recommend. But for someone in their 30's, this place...

Unfortunately, the current management style holds it back. It’s operated more like a retirement community than a welcoming, family-friendly environment.||There’s a noticeable lack of focus on fostering community and relationships among families. Instead, there’s an overemphasis on rules and control. During our stay, I watched a family get reprimanded simply for sitting near the pool steps to be close to their kids—despite no one else being at the pool. Management comes across as more interested in patrolling than creating a relaxing atmosphere.||If the owners want to truly grow the park into its full potential, a younger, more family-oriented leadership approach would make a world...
Read moreThe manager was delightful and is very organized! She was so helpfulneith us getting mail! We were assigned our site amidst many seasonal park models. We had plenty of room for our 44' Class A with Toad. There was no picnic table. We just missed the pool being open and didn't use the public laundry or restrooms.
As far as location we loved being close to the beaches, shopping was nearby and there are plenty of restaurants. Our favorite gem was a bagel shop called Sonrise in Surf City. Don't miss going here for a breakfast sandwich, especially try the bacon bagel!
Topsail RV Park fit us perfectly for our visit...
