I'm not sure where all these good reviews are coming from, because that certainly wasn't our experience. When we arrived at the bed and breakfast the young woman who gave us our room key to the cabin was nice and showed us the main home. She said we could use the kitchen and make ourselves comfortable. Well the kitchen was dirty, crumbs all over the counters and dirty dishes, and the house smelled like it hadn't been cleaned in quite a while. The owners have three dogs and that was probably part of the smell.||Then I mentioned I had purchased three breakfasts for my family and was told 'The owner, Maria, isn't here this weekend so there won't be breakfast.' Very disappointing to say the least! If you're going to advertise as a bed and BREAKFAST then you need to serve breakfast! Or at least put that on your website, and if I'd seen it I would have stayed someplace else.||As far as the 'cabin' room we stayed in, it was non-functional. Didn't look at all like the photos. The room was overcrowded with large pieces of furniture that serve no purpose. The tiny kitchen table was folded and shoved up against a wall with only two chairs. There were three of us in my family. The sofa bed was so uncomfortable to even just sit on. There were no places for 3 of us to put suitcases other than the floor, which made it difficult to walk around.||The owner, Maria, doesn't seem to care about guests. I sent her text messages and left a message on her phone and never received a call or text back. All I received was automated messages....When we checked out, her husband was in the kitchen and didn't say a word about my concerns when I mentioned to the young woman who took the key that Maria never returned my messages. He certainly didn't seem to care. And the house still smelled....||This place had a nice view but there's lots of places in Homer with nice views. Save your money and go someplace else with better service better accommodations and better...
Read moreJust returned from a family visit to Homer. Majestic View was a trip highlight. Name says it all - the view is truly majestic. Maria and her staff could not have been more friendly and accommodating. Great experience.
We stayed in Moose Manor which was perfect for our group of four. Two bedrooms with two beds in each so we all had our own bed. Nice kitchen and common area. Sparkling clean and everything in working order. Large picture window with view over bay and mountains.
Breakfast served in common dining area on upper floor with amazing view. Validating the comments of other reviewers, this meal was amazing. An added bonus was being joined by Maria and swapping stories about Homer and our various travel and life experiences.
The website pictures really do not do justice to the awesome views from the property. I realize B&B is not for everyone, but if you are looking for a spot in Homer you need to try the Majestic. Our only regret is that we could only stay one night!...
Read moreUpon arriving at Majestiv View B and B, you cannot help but noticing why the word "view" is in the name....it is truly spectacular. You see the mountains, the Homer Spit and lush green spaces.|There are several different sized rooms. We stayed in the Rose Room which was spacious and comfortable with a king-sized bed, a day bed, a sitting area, balcony and a relaxing whirlpool bathtub.|Maria sets a beautiful table and the most delicious pastries, eggs, meat, and several homemade syrups and jams for breakfast. Great conversation was had around the breakfast table and Maria had plenty of recommendations of local sites for us to see.|My husband and his riding partner had stopped in last summer at the last minute on their motorcycle tour of Alaska. He suggested we stay there this time and I am so pleased he did. If we ever find ourselves in Homer again, we will most definitly stay at the Majestic View B and B. ...
