My husband and I recently got married on March 8, 2025, and chose to spend a week at Twisted Horns Ridge in their Hill Country Cottage as our honeymoon getaway. We couldn't have picked a more peaceful, serene, and wonderful place to celebrate our new life together. From the moment we arrived, we felt an incredible sense of tranquility and warmth.
The cottage itself was immaculate; clean, cozy, and stocked with everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. One of the highlights was being greeted with a generous gift of farm-fresh eggs from the ranch’s chickens upon our arrival. After a long drive, this thoughtful touch truly hit the spot that first night as we settled in. We especially enjoyed cooking breakfast and steak on the Blackstone, and it was such a treat to see birds gathering at the bird feeder in the back while we cooked, especially the beautiful red cardinals, which just added to the peaceful ambiance.
The ranch itself is absolutely breathtaking. Waking up to see deer and antelope wandering peacefully near the cottage was a magical experience, and they made appearances throughout the day and even before bed. Driving around the Hill Country was a fantastic way to explore the natural beauty surrounding the property.
One of the most memorable parts of our stay was meeting the animals. The goats were all delightful and quickly became our favorites; especially Frank and Half & Half, who will always hold a special place in our hearts. Re-Re the cat was a fantastic little hostess, sweet and welcoming, adding to the property’s charm. We also enjoyed seeing the impressive longhorns, Cinnamon and Maverick, who were truly a sight to see.
The ranch hands on site were wonderful: kind, informative, and always willing to help or share interesting insights about the animals and the property. Their hospitality truly added to the feeling of being warmly welcomed.
Our stay at Twisted Horns Ridge was everything we hoped for and more. The combination of serene nature, friendly animals, and thoughtful touches made it an unforgettable experience. My husband and I cannot stop raving about it and reminiscing on our stay. We honestly can’t wait to take another trip out there;...
Read moreWhat an amazing experience! I was greeted by the antelope as soon as I drove in the gate. I was surprised by how many there were. My first night I was able to feed Maverick and Medina the longhorns. They were so sweet and Leah who assisted was very knowledgeable and answered all our questions. As I was getting ready to go back to my farmhouse my car died. Dana and her husband Mike got it restarted and made arrangements to come by and check on me the next morning. Mae also checked in with me to make sure I had everything I needed. I stayed in the Tiny Farmhouse. It was small and was the perfect size for me as well as absolutely spotless! I was very surprised staying on a ranch with wildlife all around, that I never saw any bugs or evidence of any not even a spider. I thoroughly enjoyed waking up in the morning and having coffee in bed while watching the birds and antelope visit right outside my windows. The homes are very private so you feel like you are the only one on the property. At night, I sat out by the fire pit to eat dinner, have a glass of wine and look at all the stars. During the day I used my wheelchair to explore the trails as much as possible and even picnicked while out exploring and watching the herd of antelope roam around. My last full day, Judy and Rudy met me by the goats and told me all about the baby ones as well as the chickens and then helped me feed the longhorns again. It was very evident that they truly care for all of the animals as well as the ranch. Everyone I met working on the ranch were genuinely interested in making sure that everyone visiting would have the best experience right down to the farm fresh eggs! I’m already looking forward to coming back and trying out some of the other homes. This vacation was incredible! Thank you, thank you for making my stay so relaxing and invigorating at...

The owners expect renters to read a 103-page manual before staying at the home yet, they still text renters several times during their stay to let them know of additional requirements and expectations. They also expect renters to abide by unwritten rules that somehow didn't make it into this gargantuan manual.
The owners accused us of breaking a small pot which we didn't break, and they wrote us an extremely negative review, even though we followed very meticulously all of the rules laid out in the manual.
They also didn't respond to a question we texted them with while at the house for several hours but were later mad that when we noticed the air conditioner dropping chunks of ice onto the bed, we didn't inform them immediately, since we were busy tidying up during checkout and waited a few minutes.
There seems to be no pleasing these people, and they were very inflexible and unreasonable in all of our interactions, right from the first question we asked, which they LOLed at. We should've known not to rent from anyone so rude and careless. Don't make the...
