Not ideal for camping, if you have large groups like we do . Limited parking, steep slopes up to campsites , sites are small with a flat spot for a tent. The bathrooms were clean , but one of the doors doesn't lock! A great place to visit for a day on a mountain lake, fishing, kayaking and the like. Lots to explore in The surrounding forest including panther Creek falls.

This little spot is a nice place where you can swim, you can fish, or look for fish eagles who catch trouts right in front of you on the lake. In the rainy season there can be a lot of water, and trees are torn up with the root and they are thrown around as if they were small branches.

Crowed with people, people that left dirty diapers on the beach. There was garbage everywhere. Noise was out of control, day use for the lake was constant traffic. People were coming to the lake on rafts at 6pm at night drinking beer and throwing cans in lake.

Ok for a day trip. Just got back from the lake, it is just an ok location, it has its charm with the views and lava rocks around and dead trees in the lake. If you are looking for fishing, this year it is not good, all the fish seem to be around 6" mark and even those are not biting very good. Looks like this year they stocked most of the lakes with fish on the smaller side. The water temperature was cooler than the lower lakes, and I did not see many swimmers. Day use parking was fuller than what I expected on a weekday, cleared up by late afternoon. Now the bad part the drive there 4x4 is recommended, road is a washboard and some serious pot holes in places. If you are in a car be cautious, as on the way back we came across fresh fallen rocks basketball size and bigger, luckily was in a truck and did not have to turn around. Dust is also a problem, so prepare to wash and vacuum when...

First off, the road is horrible!!!! Got two flats and broke a shock mount the road was so bad. Washboards and potholes the size of a small car. Horrible campground. Mosquitos the size of fíghter jets! Pretty sure we heard a bear or cougar skirting around the back of our camp. The other people were stupid loud and just close enough to not be able to sleep. And they say there's fish in the lake, but all we caught was the bottom. Broke off every other cast. I'd definitely recommend camping at somewhere like Battleground Lake if you want a better camping and fishing experience. Also, the one pit toilet that was open, STANK!!! like roadkill on...

Great fishing if you get there early in the year. If its a warm summer swimming/snorkeling is fun also. The camp site is horrible due to the fact it is on a hill. Not safe for little kids well unless they are good at rolling down hill. One RV spot if you can sleep on a slight hill and its not big enough for the big RV's. The bathrooms are Vault in late summer they get a fly problem by the end of the day. They come in on the weekends and kill the flys and clean. If you can get a campsite at Forlorn lake and fish goose would be ideal. Come early in the week to get a spot at...
