The first issue of this place is the name. There is not a waterfall to be seen and sanctuary is probably the last word I would use to describe it. You can expect to pay an abundant amount for very few amenities. If you get a tent with a bed, you can expect that bed to most likely not be level and for the interior of the tent to constantly match the outside temperature. Our experience would have been VASTLY better had just a few basic things been included instead of the place trying to nickel and dime every cent out of you. You get literally 1 gallon of water total. Not even per person. For your entire tent. For your entire stay. Nowhere to refill it and a new bottle costs $3. A cup of coffee? From a Keurig pod? $3.50. A shower!? $2.00. Sauna? $20 for one person. I imagine it’s an expensive place to keep running but just making a few small tweaks would have made our stay much more pleasant. I will say that the surrounding area is gorgeous and full of tons to do so we didn’t hang around in camp much. The host was also nice enough and gave good recommendations of what to do nearby. I was in fact a real guest and the reservation was under my husband's name. Because this host apparently likes to attack anyone who gives honest feedback, I'll choose not to include his name...

It's a short drive up past the driveway entrance that ends on a tight dirt road (truck/subaru friendly), with no room to turn around once you get in to the trailhead up to the cabin you should be comfortable driving in reverse and ok with the possibility of a couple of scratches. The alternate parking spots below are a short walk up, past the outhouse and shower, to the cabin trail. There is a picnic table and a small fire pit, but by mid summer outdoor fires may be prohibited. We bought a cast iron pan and cooked on the campfire, but they have a common cooking area down below, past the tents. Views of the forest and hills from the cabin were very relaxing and it was great stargazing from bed. There are campgrounds nearby on the wind river along with a state fish hatchery, and you are close enough to bathe at the hot springs in Carson and it's a quick crossing from there over the Columbia river to Hood River Oregon for windsurfing or...
