Garfield Bay Campground — Hotel in Hope

Very beautiful campground. We made online reservations for a tent site and had difficulty finding our spot. There was no sign reserving our spot and the camp host was no where to be found. Due to no cell service we had to use the phone at Odie’s Grocery to find out what to do. If you can, reserve a camper/RV site. The tent only sites are pretty run down, not kept up well, and not many to choose from being that a lot were closed due to hazard. Once we got in touch with the host Ron, he was very helpful and we were able to buy firewood from him. We drove down to the water during the day and the lake was beautiful. It was a very quiet and peaceful campground/lake. Bathrooms were fine, typical outhouses. Water spigot very close nearby. I would return next time and rent a camper/RV site...

Very pretty area and was happy with the size of the campsite, smaller than some but comfortable. Was really disappointed in the regulation of the campground. The camp host never came to make sure we were the people on the reservation list. Even worse our last night people showed up in the neighboring campground with 11 total cars past 10:30 at night. Playing music loud, screaming, playing beer pong and smoking weed. The camp host never even came down, despite how obviously loud (and obnoxious) they were being. The people even parked in our campsite spot and left trash everywhere that we had to clean up the next morning. Would be a great place to stay if the camp host regulated the camp...

Nice Campground. Outhouses are in pretty good shape, cleaned every other day. No showers. Taps at each RV site. We booked a tent site but ended up taking a RV site. Even if you're staying in a tent take the upgrade. The gravel road is terrible to the tent sites down a near cliff and tent sites are just dust. The road in is tight up to the sites but makes the campground nice and secluded. Nice beach, picnic area and boat launch. Bring water shoes or crocs for little kids - pebble beach. Lots of good fishing off the dock. Little convenience store near the beach for odds and ends, bait and ice cream - pricy tho. Sandpoint is abt 20 mins away....
