We stayed here back in February and had the best time! The property is very easy to find, and when you pull in it’s kindof a circular driveway/road. Each accommodation has its own quaint little setup with a parking stall, some outdoor seating, a fire pit, bbq, and lots of extras! There are vintage RV’s and tiny houses, each is totally unique. We stayed in the Golden Eagle, a vintage camper/RV. It was equipped with everything we needed and more! Just bring your food and clothes. When we arrived the bed was made up, and the table was set for two. The space heater was warm and cozy as well!
The camper was full of surprises in every cupboard and drawer. Normally we would’ve enjoyed the outdoors more, but we happened to choose the one weekend with a giant snowstorm for our stay. We had fun with the ukulele, my son had a blast playing with a pair of swim goggles, there were all kinds of kitchen accessories, books, cards, etc.
In the time we did spend outdoors, the owner directed us to their neighboring property (I gather that they own a few properties and intend to grow their park, however they’re not quite adjoined yet). It was a 2 minute drive, with a fantastic hill for sledding! We’d brought a little sled but he shared some inter tubes with us that worked much better in the fresh snow. He even took a video and shared it with us coming down the hill so we have a fun keepsake.
On the main property, in the center of the large circular driveway loop there is a horse coral and a chicken coop. My son enjoyed feeding carrots and apples to the horse. One of the chickens was happy to snuggle!
There is no running water, so they’ve built the fanciest outhouse I’ve ever seen. It’s got a light, decorations, a radio! On the other side of the property there’s a laundry room to wash clothes if needed, this came in handy with all of our wet snow clothes! There’s a shower available too however we didn’t bother since we were just there two nights and it stormed almost the whole time.
The space is large enough that you have plenty of privacy, but small enough that my son had no problem playing with the other children who were staying in another accommodation. The owners are as hands on it as hands off as you want. They’re extremely responsive to phone calls or texts if you have any questions before, during, or after your stay. They go out of their way to make sure you have the best experience. We accidentally left a few items behind, and he even brought them into town so we could retrieve them!
10/10 I will stay there again, and recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet home away from home. We happen to live about an hour and a half away and it was just the perfect cost effective getaway from our regular day to day to relax and recharge. It would also be great if you were traveling through the area and needed a place to stay. It would be a fun place for a weekend with friends, a family reunion or more! The golden Eagle was perfectly sized for my son and I. My husband wasn’t feeling well so he just came up for the afternoon one day - as a really tall guy he would’ve been a little cramped in the bed if the three of us actually spent the night together - but we had a nice time curled up in the bed for a movie. The table does convert to another bed somehow but my son is pretty young and was nervous about being ‘alone’.
This is the longest review I’ve ever written but I really just loved the place and am looking forward to...
Read moreLet me clarify this review by first stating that we didn't stay the two nights we had planned, but we did check in. Unfortunately, it was a bit more rustic then we had anticipated. I never did personally meet the camp hosts as they were busy attending to other responsibilities but they were kind enough to communicate through text whenever we needed and even left a note that welcomed us to the trailer. The camp was hosting a "Hootenanny" for everyone on our 2nd night and although we didn't stay, they were kind enough to invite us to the event anyway. I interpreted it as a fun celebration of community and harvest. If we had been available, I'm sure it would have been quite the party. There was a few reasons we chose to find a different spot to stay. We were notified of the rustic nature of this campsite, however, the pictures and reviews didn't do the simplicity and basics justice. It was a cheap stay and they did provide a/c and electricity as promised, however, for us it felt like staying in a hodgepodge of misfit leftover parts. Also, I think my children pictured staying in a petting zoo and frolicking with farm animals. Unfortunately, some animals were missing feathers and there were scattered bones around which made them uncomfortable. My wife didn't like the old, musty smell in some of the dwellings or the open air shower facilities. As a husband and father, I will admit I prejudged some of the other guests staying on the property and was focused on the safety of my family. This is a perfect stay for some people. It is cheap, a place to lay your head, and the hosts are incredibly kind. For us, it wasn't a place to lay our heads. I will admit that I probably should have done additional research. The hosts were kind enough to refund half of our costs back, even though I didn't ask. I didn't take pictures out of respect for them and any negativity it may have conveyed because I do think they work hard to provide a place of rest for those passing by. Even if you don't stay, I recommend stopping just to check it out and purchase some items at...
Read moreHi! We had so much fun and Ole RV Park. If your looking for an experience you’ve found the right place. Each of the trailers have a cute theme. We stayed in the Santa Fe. It’s small but if your spending most of your time on the River it doesn’t matter. There was a couple of rainy days during our week stay but we didn’t mind because we got in the beds and read. We both found it relaxing to hear the rain against the roof. Edge and his wife were very friendly and helpful. They are very reasonable on their pricing. We’ve told everyone we know about this place. They have chickens, horses and a donkey. We enjoyed being around the animals and didn’t mind the crowing in the morning. We will definitely be back. We’re so glad we stayed here. Great people, great price and near some of the most scenic places we’ve been too. An enthusiastic 5 stars.
This is an update: we just stayed for almost 3 weeks the end of November and beginning of December 2023. When we first arrived Edge and Jesse Ann were gone but Chris was here. She was absolutely wonderful. She made sure we had everything we needed and was so personable and friendly. We enjoyed getting to know her. She offered us goat milk and mountain spring water everyday. The place we stayed was called Papa Blue. It was clean and cozy. When the couple returned they were also personable and friendly. I needed a battery charger one night and they were happy to lend one to me. No problems. We enjoyed the atmosphere here. They have lights up and cute little places to stay all around. We borrowed a book, at their library—enjoyed nights of reading. We left a couple of books behind. Hope if you stay, you enjoy the outdoor space, the animals, the coziness, the company as much as we did. Happy Holidays to Chris, Edge, and Jesse Ann. Thanks again for...
