Great family camping.

Crystal Springs Recreation Area is a natural wonderland waiting to be explored. Nestled in a pristine corner of the Ouachita Mountains, this park offers a diverse range of outdoor experiences. From the moment you arrive, you're greeted with stunning landscapes – crystal-clear lakes, lush forests, and vibrant meadows.

Hiking enthusiasts will be delighted by the well-maintained trails that lead to breathtaking viewpoints, and nature lovers will appreciate the abundance of wildlife and plant species. Birdwatching is a joy here, with countless species to spot.

The campground facilities are top-notch, with clean restrooms, spacious sites, and well-placed picnic areas. The serene lakes offer fantastic opportunities for fishing, boating, and swimming, and the on-site rentals make it accessible for everyone. The park rangers are incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about preserving the area.

Perhaps one of the most impressive aspects is the night sky. The absence of light pollution allows for stunning stargazing opportunities. Crystal Springs Recreation Area is a haven for families, hikers, anglers, and anyone seeking solace in nature. Whether you're looking for adventure, relaxation, or a connection with the great outdoors, this hidden gem delivers in every way. It's a reminder of the beauty that Mother Nature provides, right in our...

First, I am reviewing this as a tent camper. If you are an RV person, it would be a different review. If you like a "neighborhood" atmosphere, this place is for you. There is zero privacy, all the sites are on top of each other. I reserved a twnt only site on the water. I didnt realize that this meant that every other site was behind and above you, looking down right at your every movement. Also, for a tent only site, you would expect some ground where you could, you know, use a tent stake. The site was nice and level, but there was a solid foot of rock hard gravel that it would take the hulk with Thors hammer to get a stake into. I'm a solo motocamper, my backpacking tent requires stakes to stay upright. The positives are it was clean, pretty, easily accessible, and had nice facilities(restroom...

My family and I stayed for 3 nights and it was all great! We stayed at site 13 and it's beautiful!! We were next to the water where we got to fish and where the boat ramp was, so boats were going out at 4am and it woke us up. We weren't far the restroom and showers (walking distance). Also if you need something there is a dollar general 5 mils away. Beach was amazing also. The only thing I didn't like was at our site there is about 1 1/2 foot drop of the edge, and kinda steep to get to the water. But I would definitely return!!! Oh! The host are both very sweet people! The man came around everyday to check to see how the kids were liking...

Day use area is the first entrance to the right. There is a parking lot with a pay box. It's $5 per vehicle. You can drive down to the bathroom/changing room to unload all your gear first. There is a sidewalk leading down to beach area. There are water faucets located around bathrooms so you can rinse off sandy feet. There are several concrete picnic tables with grills in close proximity to the beach area. You can also bring chairs to sit in on the beach. There is a playground on the beach. The water was clean. The beach area was in need of mowing & some sticks & logs need to be picked up. We enjoyed ourselves very much!
