We stayed over Labor Day weekend and should’ve known when they still had a lot of sites left. We intentionally booked this campground because they allowed you to bring your own golf cart, according to the website. When I booked on the website I never got a confirmation email, and neither did our friends who were staying with us as well. Our friends called and confirmed that our sites were booked and they were told yes and did not say anything after being told that neither of us received a confirmation email. I called about a week later to ask about overflow parking for a trailer that would be hauling our golf carts. I was told that we wouldn’t be able to off load them. I asked why and they said they don’t allow outside golf carts. I said the website said otherwise but I was told by the employee that the rules had changed and the website was wrong. I then asked about a confirmation email and she asked if we had a Gmail account, which both us our and friends did. The employee said that their system always kicks back Gmail for some reason. Why this wasn’t mentioned the first time, is beyond me. I gave the employee a different email and waited about a week. I called again after not receiving a confirmation to my Yahoo account and again asked to confirm about the golf cart, as we had other people say they brought theirs all the time. I was again told no to the golf cart and she was then able to force an email confirmation and receipt for our bookings to my Yahoo. Fast forward to our camping trip, we arrive only to find people were bring and driving their OWN golf carts, not one thing was said to them. Second we paid for a cabana one day at the pool and the mini fridge was filthy and still had bottle left in it by previous people. I believe for having to pay that the fridge should be cleaned throughly, and you could tell it hadn’t been cleaned in a while. On top of that, the rules clearly state no smoking or vaping in the pool area but of course, it appeared the rules only applied to some people because a group was consistently smoking in the pool area over the weekend. Third I believe a golden rule of RV camping is to not pressure wash your RV or vehicles, but apparently not at this place as they allow this as well. Another person in our group rented a cabin and the stove in her cabin DID NOT WORK the coils did not heat up at all. These cabins aren’t exactly cheap either and I believe they should work properly. Overall the atmosphere was not a friendly normal campground. Other people were rude letting their kids splash and hit people in the pool. I would not stay here again nor would I recommend it.

This place is fantastic! We recently took our family in the camper for a weekend getaway. The pads and hook-ups are super nice. We booked a pull-thru site but they also have back-in sites. The also have a propane filling station. The pool is super spacious and very well maintained. They have nice covered cabanas and plenty of seating and a hot tub. While we were there they did a Dive-In movie night and our kiddos really enjoyed that! The have plenty of outdoor games and seating areas. The Putt Putt Golf was a favorite of my little one. They have the garden lights strung around it for a round of night golfing. There is a large chess/checkers board by the club house, which is very nice. You can rent kayaks and golf carts. There is a large jump pad that my kids just loved. They plan activities for the kiddos and family. My kids had fun participating in "Water Wars" (water balloon fight) and the obstacle course set up by the resort. Bring your bikes to ride around the grounds. The staff is super friendly and helpful. The grounds and all the facilities are well kept and clean. The fishing pier and boardwalk are great and well lit with lights at night. If you don't have a camper you can rent a tiny house, covered wagon, a retro camper, glamping tents or bring your own tent to camp. The location is great. Just a few minutes from all major grocery stores and gas stations in case you forgot something. There is a boat launch just next to the resort there for those looking to check out Lake Houston. We will most definitely be going back!

Maybe I’m a bit overly excited because this is a new Adventure for me but this place is really cool for a family fun trip.🤗There is a Clubhouse where you can hang out and chill, also staff on site to answer questions, check you in and fix stuff if it’s not working properly. Which came in handy for us! 😅 There is a pool, basketball, mini golf, jumping pad, mini playground, fire pits, a lake with kayaks at an additional cost. You can bring your own tent (about $40 for a grassy lot) or be adventurous and try a few other options! I’m more of a “Glamper” than a Camper! LOL 😆 The bell tents are like large Tepees with a BED! There are cute little “Tiny” Houses😆 Some are two stories. Some have a little porch to sit out on. All with a kitchen, dining area, bunk beds, separate bedroom, TVs, and sofa Sleeps 6-8. That’s what our family chose. It’s Spring Break so There are activities planned for the kids as well! Sand Art, Foam Party, Water wars, Water balloon Toss etc. And happy hour at 6pm!! 😍 We plan to enjoy the activities and barbecue later. Inviting a friend to join us for the $5 additional parking pass or $15 for a day pass if they wanna get in the pool and do any of the other amenities. Not bad price wise! So come on down and sit by the 🔥 Fire 🥰

My advice is to avoid taking children to this camping resort on weekdays, as there are absolutely no planned activities for kids. Every summer, my sister and I take our mother and children on a mini-vacation. This time, we chose this resort because, based on online information, it seemed comparable to a Yogi Bear resort.||Unfortunately, the problems began right away. My reservation stated that check-in was at 1:00 PM. Finding that unusual, I called to confirm. After that, I made the four-plus hour drive with three children, two dogs, and my elderly mother. When we arrived at 3:30 PM, it was pouring rain, and we were told our cabin was not ready.||We waited in the car while staff did the bare minimum to clean. At that time, only one other cabin was occupied. The only explanation I can think of for them making us wait specifically for the “El Paso” cabin is that we had requested a pet-friendly cabin. I had also preordered a golf cart. They said they did not do that and none of them were charged. That ended up being a good thing because the park isn't very big and there was really no reason to drive around.||Our reservation was for six people, yet there were only three towels in the bathroom. On two separate occasions, I went to the clubhouse to request additional towels, but it was never staffed. Ultimately, I had to purchase towels from a nearby Dollar General.||Regarding the clubhouse, it was rarely staffed. Although the posted hours were roughly 9 AM to 6 PM, no matter what time we visited, there was never anyone available. The kids wanted to buy souvenirs from the gift shop but were unable to because of the lack of staff. There was a sign on the desk advertising hand-scooped ice cream. We decided to get some for the kids, but after waiting quite a while for someone to come out of the back room and take our order, we then waited an additional 15 minutes while she scooped three servings of ice cream into bowls.||The pool hours listed in the rules sheet that came with my reservation were 9 AM to 9 PM. However, on the first full day we were there (Monday), the pool was closed due to unsafe chemical levels. This might not have been their fault since there was heavy rain the day before. We only found out when someone came over and told the kids to get out. They said a text had been sent to campers, but I never received one. |On the second day (Tuesday), after spending time at an indoor slide park, the kids wanted to swim, but the pool closed at 4 PM.||The website listed electric bikes, paddle boards, and canoes as available activities. However, the pond where you would use the paddle boards didn’t seem safe for kids if they fell in. Although the pond was pretty, it was very murky and filled with lily pads. Additionally, the rental rates were quite high and you would have had to find someone to rent them to you in the club house.||The cabin was new and well stocked with kitchen gear. However, there were no blinds on the windows in the loft and bunk room. Since these rooms faced a busy road, every passing car caused the rooms to light up. The bathroom’s pocket door was problematic—it either wouldn’t close fully or, if it did, it tended to lock you inside. My niece, my mom, and I each got locked in at different times. On the last day of our stay, the air conditioning stopped cooling properly, resulting in a hot and uncomfortable night. There was a couch and four bar stools in the sitting area. If the furniture had been rearranged there would have been better potential for comfy seating and places to dine.||Overall, this campsite seems to primarily cater to long-term residents who park their RVs and commute to work. During our stay, only one other cabin was reserved, none of the covered wagon sites were in use, and less than half of the RV sites were occupied. The grounds were clean except around the trash cans and the trees around the pond were pretty. There were several place to...

Often, I travel with a Glamper's group to this park, the latest being the beginning of July for 4 days. We arrive to only find power has not been restored to several sites since the storm Mother’s Day weekend in May, so of course all of our sites were moved with no prior notification. These sites should not be listed on the website as bookable if you know they have no power. As most folks would, when booking this park, we use the site map to determine what sites we ask the other members to book. UPDATE your website.||I don’t know about you, but when I book an RV park, I look forward to using the amenities; the swimming pool felt like an oven!! I am not kidding, a freaking oven or hot tub at its highest setting. After complaining about the pool 3 days in a row I was told they would run a water hose to cool it off, I was even told they would look into adding ice to cool it down, so they were well aware of the temperature in the pool. I never saw any of it being done, nor felt the results of this effort (lie), as day after day it remained hot. Not only was it hot, it was extremely cloudy...YUCK||The outdoor temperature had nothing to do with the heat in the pool, I'd been in 2 other pools that week in Houston and they were the perfect cool as you would expect. It’s obvious this RV park has no chiller on the pool. ||Literally, it was cooler sitting pool side in 97-degree heat than being in the pool...this was VERY disappointing as you want to use the amenities when visiting a RV park.||Over the course of 4 days while there, the internet NEVER worked, I called the office every day and was told the same lie “They would reset the internet as they were having issues since the storm” .... I’m thinking to myself, "it’s been 2 months since that storm, how is it still out?". Needless to say, you COULDN"T watch tv or do anything internet based. Who doesn’t like relaxing in the evening with a good movie, I know I do.||The staff is friendly but NO ONE knows what's going on or how to fix anything. Not one person had the capabilities to restore electrical power to the power box (a friend had to move about 10 spots away because they couldn’t fix the power at their site) …yes, the maintenance man came…nothing! ||Maintenance couldn't fix the pool or the internet either. ||The ONLY reason I didn't checkout is because EVERY day the staff committed to fixing things and my friends were all there...complaining too of course but we had each other’s company...that is the ONLY reason we didn't leave in the middle of our vacation. This by far is the WORSE experience ever and I will not be referring this place like I use to hype it up before and tell everyone how nice the facilities are.... they are no longer.||That staff is in dire need of training and overhaul period. You can tell it’s one family running it all, which is perfectly fine if someone in the family knows how to run/manage/operate a RV park. But I must say Hunter, the lil boy who’s grandma runs the place is full of hospitality 😊||You have definitely lost some...

Update: I have been contacted by the management and she was very nice and took note of all of the difficulties we experienced during our stay. She assures me that she is doing an in service with her cleaning staff and is making some updates and changes where needed. My family intends to stay again and I appreciate the friendliness and attentiveness of the management. I upgraded to 4 stars simply based on that. Thank you.

Original post: My family just stayed here and booked 4 cabins. We had a good time, because my family tends to make the best of things. But most of our cabins were pretty dirty. There were 2 medium sized dead roaches on the floor in mine upon arrival and my kids' socks/feet were BLACK from just walking on the floor in the cabin. The loft had not been vacuumed and had trash and skittles on the carpet. The AC struggled to keep up, especially in the loft area. We had to cover the windows with dark sheets that I had brought because the loft did not have even blinds on the windows, which made it even hotter. The master bed was SOOOOO uncomfortable and creaky. The mattress dips in and makes so much noise with the slightest move. It definitely needs to be replaced. The couch was broken (the back wouldn't stay up, so we had to put things behind it to prop it up) and it was also very uncomfortable to sit on and needs to be replaced. The grills outside each cabin are convenient, but they also were extremely dirty. My mother's cabin had 2 large roaches that were alive and her microwave was disgusting and she had to clean it. My niece checked in and was placed in a cabin and after getting all unpacked was told that she had to move because they put her in the wrong cabin. This would've been ok, but the one they moved her to had a broken toilet and they literally had to use the cabin next door for about 24 hours in order to be able to use the restroom. Her cabin was also dirty and her bed was very uncomfortable. My sister's cabin had the built in bunk beds, which were very hot and the top bunk smelled strongly of urine. The pool is nice, but there is no shade unless you book a very expensive cabana and the pool water was HOT. VERY HOT. I was told they are putting a chiller on the pool, so hopefully if we stay again it will be more refreshing. The hot tub is nice and the grounds are pretty and serene. The cabins have potential, but just need better, more thorough cleaning and maintenance and mattresses and the couch in the Dallas to be replaced. We may consider staying again, as it was very convenient for all of us to get to, but I truly hope that the cleanliness and comfortability/maintenance issues will be addressed. I can see where they are trying to go with this place and I hope...
