Personally unless you NEED or really WANT to be in this park, try to look elsewhere. We travel full time in our 42’ fifthwheel so we have been to a lot of parks in our first 6 months on the road.
Office staff/owner is a little out of touch with reality and inefficient and upfront desk service was not very professional (munching apples and talking to customers with food in your mouth and hands etc Pretty sure it was the owner and she didn’t even seem to know how to use the system to fix our problem and check us in), they canceled our reservation because they didn’t amend it as we had asked to when we called several days in advance. I got a cancellation notice as we were halfway into a 6hr drive there. So they flubbed up and gave our spot away but ended up giving us the next spot which was a patio spot, we didn’t get charged extra so that was good as I wouldn’t have paid it if they tried since it was their error not updating our reservation. Maybe at one time this was a better park and had better service. The area we had to park was added on sometime after the park was built but still not super recent. There is no sewer back here and this should be CAPPED at 38-39’ RVs whether trailers or coaches! Anything beyond that is going to be a struggle honestly. We have a 42’ with a dually long bed and it was not terrible per se but not the best fit and lots of scratches from trees and we barely got in and I would definitely NOT go over 40’ out here at all.
The spot was a very narrow pad we just barely got into and while the patio is nice and the furniture as well it is actually too large for the space so needed to be about 6-8” shorter at least to be more manageable to get into the spot and get your steps out too. So again not big rig friendly space or maneuverability out here.
The spots here are also RIGHT next to a very busy road. Traffic flying by at all hours constantly, so not a quiet rural road. Tons of loud motorcycles constantly too.
There is no cell service here at all and the wifi while commendable they have decent wifi boosters around the park the problem is there is NOT enough bandwidth at all even on the slowest day At end of season when the park is almost empty. So don’t rely on it at all. We had to leave because my husband works online and had we done better vetting we would have known, this was our mistake. I’ll give them credit that she did allow us to cancel the rest of our reservation and refunded our difference because no way we could make it work with no internet. The lady was nice but honestly I think just losing her touch with how to really keep a camp ground going and doing all that needs to be done. I believe she said she is trying to list it for sale. It could be a good park with some help and changes.
Honestly it’s just nothing special at all basically a country/local place. For small campers or locals or a quick 1 day stop through it is fine but other than that it’s just not worth it, if you want to see Vermont, pass on over. We came to Lake Champagne RV park and it has been so great. So much over here to see and do and the views are wonderful and...
Read moreLake Bomoseen KOA: What to Expect||Before our stay, we came across some negative reviews about Lake Bomoseen KOA, which made us a bit anxious. However, our experience was quite different from what we expected based on those reviews. Here’s what you should know:||Expect a Typical KOA Experience: Lake Bomoseen is a standard KOA—safe, affordable, and adhering to KOA's corporate standards. It's not luxury camping, but that's not what KOA is about. If you've stayed at other KOAs, you’ll find similar setups here. It's a budget-friendly, family-oriented campground that offers a nice getaway in nature.||Addressing Common Complaints:||Cleanliness: Some reviews mentioned unclean facilities, but we found the bathrooms and showers to be well-maintained. The laundry room was temporarily closed due to a fire, but the staff was upfront about this. Plan ahead and pack extra clothes just in case.||The Lake: The lake area is a boat launch, not a swimming or play area. It’s functional for boating, but if you’re expecting a beach, that’s not what this spot is for.||Pool and Amenities: The pool is on the smaller side, typical for a KOA, and geared towards families with kids. It’s not a large, resort-style pool but offers a nice way to cool off. If you’re expecting luxury amenities, this might not meet your expectations.||Campsite Spacing: Like most KOAs, the campsites are close together. KOA’s business model requires efficient use of space, so don’t expect wide-open spaces between sites. However, it's still cozy and functional for RVs, tents, and cabins.||No Wifi / Cell Service: There is Wifi, but it’s slow and spotty at times. This is pretty standard for KOAs in rural or mountainous areas. If you're dependent on Wifi for work or other needs, plan accordingly. Cell service can also be patchy, but that’s part of being in a remote, natural location.||Trash and Onsite Security Deposits: Some people were surprised by having to take their own trash to the dumpster or pay a $50 deposit on arrival. These are standard practices for many campgrounds, so it's worth checking the KOA website for these details before your stay.||Final Thoughts: If you come to Lake Bomoseen KOA with realistic expectations—a quiet, family-friendly campground with basic amenities—you’ll likely have a pleasant stay. It’s great for those who enjoy nature and a bit of rustic charm. If you’re looking for a more luxurious or high-tech experience, you might want to consider other options. For us, it was a solid KOA experience, in line with what we’ve seen across the...
