My family of four children and I decided to stay in Hugoton since we had activities going on Friday and Saturday. This is a very nice hotel, however I was not very impressed with the staff or the situation we ran into. Any time that I went to the front desk and I had to holler in order to get someone to come to the front desk, which shouldn't be the case during prime hours of check in / check out times. Then during the late hours of 2:30 AM there was a gas leak at the plant across the street. The fire alarms were set off and we just hurried to leave the building. Of course this is a situation that they are unable to prevent. The issue that I was most upset with was the fact that the front desk attendant did not bother to reach out to me after it was all clear to go back to the hotel. All we were told from the fire fighter was that it would take awhile to clear the area. Luckily I was able to get ahold of a friend to stay at their house. Once we got back to the hotel to pack our items we found a card in our room that gave the information for the gas plant but that was it. When I asked the front desk if I was supposed to contact them, she had no clue what it was for. Next time I will just make the drive back home because that was not worth the money or headache I had...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreOn a trip to New Mexico we stayed one night on the way there , and one night on the way home. The desk staff were courteous and efficient. The rooms were spotlessly clean, and had more than adequate numbers of towels, wash clothes and soaps. Both rooms had comfortable beds and pillows, and had refrigerator, microwave and small coffee maker (which I did not use). I used the small gym on the way home. It had a versatile weight machine with incorporated bench, seated cycle, tread mill and elliptical. There was a water dispenser and cups, and a stack of clean hand towels. I would have appreciated a hand sanitizer dispenser. I was told I could check out free weights and a mat if I wanted to work out in my room, which Iāve never seen offered in a hotel. We didnāt use the pool or hot tub. |The included breakfast was well above the norm for this style of hotel. The space was large with adequate seating. There were more than the usual options as well as a staffed omelette station ( Iām not joking). I canāt comment on the eggs as I had oatmeal. |The hotel sits back from a rural highway thatās not very busy, but if youāre a light sleeper you may want to request a room on the north side. |Iād recommend this hotel to family and friends without...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreTravel with work all over the country and stay at hotels/motels quite extensively. Been here only one week and have noticed incompetence in the staff as well as management. The hot tub is still broken after months of being out of service with what appears to be this hotels policy of acceptance of inadequate equipment. The staff seems to be incapable of respecting the guests privacy as my room has been entered several times in spite of having the "do not disturb, privacy please" door hanger displayed upon the doors exterior due to the sensitive nature of confidential materials of my work. I have explained to the hotel manager that both myself and my staff does not require them entering our rooms for cleaning or otherwise. The staff has displayed that the owners of this establishment have left pretentious self important children in charge of their livelihood. While this establishment is approximately 40 minutes drive closer to our day to day operations, if this wanton disregard for privacy continues I may have to switch hotels in the best interest...
