This place was awesome!! We were looking for a place to stay that was close to Devils Tower and these Tipi's were definitely the closest place. We also loved the idea of spending the night in an actual Tipi in the middle of no where! ||There was a total of 7 or 8 Tipi's on the property, all spaced out each with their own sitting area outside. The Tipi was very clean, the sheets were very traditional looking and definitely warm. We had a camp stove as well that we did not end up using. There was a small solar light inside for the evening. We had flashlights incase we needed more light, we didn't. ||There is a porta-poty on the property, it was as clean as a porta-poty can be after it has been used for a few days. ||The property offers great views of Devils Tower and gives you the opportunity to be close at sunset and sunrise to get some great pictures!!||Shortly after we arrived we meet the owner and her dogs. Our son loves dogs and really enjoyed running around with them watching them chase and eat the grasshoppers, it was hilarious! The owner is super nice and makes sure you have everything you need for your stay. We also meet some of the other people staying and really had a great time talking with them. ||This place is in the middle of no where, which we really enjoyed. The sky was clear when we stayed and we really enjoyed the views of the night sky and stars over top of Devils Tower. There is definitely no light pollution around here to obstruct your view. We were also able to hear the coyotes howling in the middle of the night, they were way off in the distance. It does get quite cool over night so we were glad that, even in the middle of summer, we paid to get the extra bed sheets. You do sleep on the ground, however there are sleeping pads that are provided and they were comfortable enough to get a good nights sleep on. We stayed during the last week of July 2020.||Overall, if you are planning to be close to Devils Tower at the end of one of your days this is a must...

The location is about a 20 minute drive from the entrance to Devil's Tower. As this was our last stop, we stayed one night.
We stayed in Big Fish, a beautiful 14" hand painted tipi. The interior was cozy with lanterns hanging and small carpets lining the edges. Our tiny kitchen consisted of a two burner stove, a tea kettle, a bin of mugs, and a 3-gallon water station. The set up was very simple, comfortable, and spacious enough for 2-3 people. We had a late dinner using our small recycled wooden table lying outside of the entrance. While there is no running water on the property, our toilet was the cleanest porta potty I've ever used!!!
The site was quiet and serene. The simplicity allowed us to focus on the surrounding animals, stars, and Tower. We will absolutely be returning in the near future and hope to...
Read moreWe had two wonderful nights in Juliana's tipi! The view of Devil's Tower with tipis in the foreground is so memorable! It all is exactly what her website tells you. The porta-pot is absolutely the cleanest odor free one I have ever used...ever! The fear of field mice is highly over-rated. Don't leave food at ground level and they won't come around. This is common camping knowledge. The opportunity to live like a Native American is unique. The Milky Way at night is the best possible; no city lights for over 60 miles in any directions.
Take Juliana's advice...go to Devil's Tower 30 minutes before sunset! The colors are softer, and the animals are out. We saw a number of mule deer, a dozen Golden Eagles, and 150-200 Condors!
We highly recommend this unique experience! Thank...
