I recently had the pleasure of visiting this beachside campsite and it left quite an impression. The weather during the day was clear and hot, perfect for soaking up the sun, while the nights were windy and cold under clear skies. There are fire pit throughout the beach for night time bonfire.
The campsite host, an older gentleman, was incredibly welcoming and easy to communicate with. He kindly directed me to my reserved spot after checking my reservation.
While the campsite itself was a bit cramped due to the large size RV, reservations can easily be made via the government site, with holders of interagency access passes enjoying discounted rates.
Additionally, there's a convenient day use parking area for RVs and other trailer or regular car, although it tends to fill up quickly due to its popularity.
A few miles down the road, you'll find a plethora of bars and restaurants to explore. Additionally, there are numerous kayak rentals available for those looking to paddle around the bay and take in the scenic views.
The beach offers ample space for various activities, and the water is refreshingly clean. Overall, it's a fantastic spot for RV camping. I had a great time with my fellow veterans buddy get together.
Let's remember to be mindful of our surroundings, keep the area clean, and preserve the natural beauty of the environment by refraining from littering and always picking up after ourselves. As always, let's focus on the good and relish in the serene...
Read moreI stayed in spot 41 for one night. Electric and Water only but there is a dump station in the next parking lot. It backed up to the beach with a pathway that divides the beach from the park with lots of bike and walking traffic. There is a divider fence up as well with an opening for access in between each/every other spot. People staying on the other side cut through these sites to utilize these openings to get to the beach as well, so, watch out when you open your door. I almost hit someone cutting through. Also the spots are pretty close together. When I opened my door I was about 4 feet away from the neighboring RV guests sitting behind their RV. Unfortunately, they didn't keep their dog on a leash so they were always yelling for it and it popped behind my area and was not cleaned up. But that's not the Parks fault. I liked this spot because when you walked out to the path there was a paved area that went halfway to the ocean with benches. So that was nice to be so close to that to sit and watch the sunset. You can also see what I believe are oil rigs in the distance and ships lined up. No wi-fi. Bathrooms are locked at 10:30pm. Showers are pay to use. Dogs are allowed on the pathway but not the beach itself. I also was told there is a dog area across the street somewhere too. The ranger at the entrance was super nice and the camp host Jim was very friendly and helpful. I...
Read moreThe spot was amazing. The staff guy was rude racist. He lives there and thinks he owns the place. He knew our neighbored and was not rude to them. I checked in and did not have my ticket had to drive back. That was okay but was extremely rude about it. The neighbor left at 12:18 same time as I and he was not rude. I asked if code still worked for shower in front of his friend my neighbor he said I should of had my vehicle out of there as of yesterday. Like I was not welcome and I should of took shower before noon. The neighbor told me she thought he was joking. But I didn’t take kindly to it and thought he was utterly rude and disrespectful. I also asked him I see people checking in at noon and he told me 1 pm. He said next time he will call the cops on me. This is a Monday morning and I get doing ur job but when I’m observing him act completely differently with my neighbors and me differently, I can only conclude he is racist and not fond of peoples of color. My neighbors were white so I find it ironic. He was very rude and vindictive and I didn’t appreciate being treated like I didn’t belong and I’m driving a...
