We’ve stayed twice this year. The facilities are pretty well kept and clean.
Our first stay, Memorial Day weekend (still cool out), There were lots of activities on the grounds. Concerts and games in the pavilion that touts a snack counter and vending. Food , ice cream, and coffee trucks were parked nearby. Lot’s of kids playing volleyball on the sand courts and in the two playground areas near our site.
It was a bit cold so the pool was not yet open and inflatables just being put out in the lake (understandable for the unseasonably cold temps this year)
On our second stay we had a 10, 12, & 14yo grandkid with us. The younger ones spent all day in the lake on the inflatables and thoroughly enjoyed the time. Life vests are required but available for a $10 daily rental or you can bring your own.
We found the pool to be quite small and it best accommodated the smaller children in the park. There is no escaping the sun within the pool area so keeping an eye on them proved difficult and we went back to the lake.
There was a movie night on the beach but Luther coordinated events/activities were absent.
Both stays we’re in the same spot near the lake and beach area.
The staff we encountered were quite welcoming, friendly and helpful.
The small store has essentials and kayak rentals.
The bath house by the lake is pretty well kept. There are two showers in the men’s room which seemed limited but I never had to wait and plenty of hot water although you have to continually turn it on as it times out.
It was nice to stay close to the beach but the common beach/park area next to it could get quite loud and crowded with parents watching kids at the lake from their vehicle/cart.
There seems to be a significant number of seasonal campers. Most had exhaust systems on their trucks and carts but those that didn’t were proud of it. Many also had sound systems to blare at the beach. And the lack of sewer in our area caused a constant parade of turd toters past our site.
Our first stay we had neighbors that had no sense of camping etiquette with their dogs and kids both unleashed and running through our site perpetually despite my prompting. And someone nearby with horrible music blaring right up to the 11:00 “quiet time” which is a little later than most grounds so there was little of the outdoors to be enjoyed by the campfire that trip.
Our second trip was quite a bit better but enforcement of the written rules and maybe a handout at check-in or inclusion of camping etiquette and required maintenance of vehicles would benefit all.
Overall this is a beautiful lake area with fishing, boating, paddling, and lake activity. It was quite well filled so obviously very well...

We spent the holiday weekend and were VERY surprised to see how “relaxed” and LOUD the environment was. No rules applied. • Roads very poor and dust was almost unbearable - our vehicles and camper were covered as if it snowed. We were all stuffed up, congest and our eyes itched and burned. Once we were home for several hours, those symptoms subsided • No one was social distancing or wearing masks when they couldn’t keep the 6ft distancing. They had a St. Jude’s events taking place with raffles, Bingo and auctions. No one wore masks and there were mass gatherings (over the allowed maximum number of people) at the large pavilion (no masks/no distancing). • People driving around in golf carts holding beer cans • 2 and 4 seater golf carts transporting way more people than they should (people standing and holding on to the back/sides) • Crazy traffic on the main strip and people driving WAY too fast…there is NO WAY I would be riding a bicycle, let alone let my grandkids! It was like a free for all. • Two food trucks were on-site and the workers did not wear masks • We arrived Friday and left early Monday morning. During that time we saw a total of TWO individuals wearing masks. The girl at the gate and one guest. At no other time did we encounter workers or guests within 6 ft. wearing masks. Not even in the RV Store up front. • It was loud, and quiet time wasn’t until 11pm (which RARELY happened). Neighboring campers had music and were so loud until after 3am. Campers across the lake kept music blaring to well after midnight…party central and free-for-all. It was like being at a frat house all weekend. NOT relaxing by any stretch. • Golf carts ride on the “walking trail” so you have to keep moving over. • Trash receptacles were few and far between, so many people just pitched stuff on the ground (which is a shame).
The beach was very nice and clean, and the Wibbits on the lake would be a lot of fun for the kids. They don't limit the number of people on them, so we had to keep calling our grand-kids away due to overcrowding - which was concerning due to COVID-19 and safety. An adult jumped off the side of a Wibbit and knocked my 5-year old granddaughter under water. That ended it for us - it was rough play, and again - NO RULES APPLY.
The grounds are beautiful, and they have done a lot of work since we have been there several years ago. I hope they continue to improve and make some necessary adjustments, and work on rule enforcement. It really has potential to be a great place, it's just...
Read moreSo my mother-in-law just got kicked out of the this campground because she was watching my dogs for less than four hours. The reason why she was watching my dogs is because I just got medically retired from the army and I had to go look at a house not only that had to go enroll the girls in school. They were saying that the dogs that are Service connected to my disability has been neglected and is a crime. That they have been left outside. When that is not the case at all if they want to talk about a crime, let’s talk about not having a well lit community despite the all the kids that call that they home away from home. Also, let’s talk about the restroom facilities that are not within the OSHA guidelines away from living lots. Also not Will circulated which is a breathing ground for bacteria once again bad for kids. Also, they have no fall protection around the cliffs of the campground, which is also an OSHA violation. They also have no warning signs anywhere by the lake. Will they allow campers to stay this might sound a little petty, but at the end of the day, I would not recommend this campground at all, just due to the fact of the disrespected military personnel, and at the same time, though disregard to the safety and the protection of the residence that stay behind those campgrounds. I promise you that I will report you guys to OSHA not only is this an OSHA violation, but this is also a violation when it comes to the well-being of the federal code of Ohio health department. So I will be reporting this to the Attorney General’s office in Ohio not only that I will be reporting this to the OSHA department as well as the department of Health and sanitary department. And I will continue to follow up with this to ensure that the safety that they claimed to uphold is being uploaded. If not, then I wasn’t sure the restitution is going to be accomplished. There are too many people in this campground that think that they are above the law it’s about time someone does something to this campground to make it right. Because at the end of the day, if you wanna uphold the regulations, then uphold regulations across-the-board, not some regulations, and I promise you by the end of the month you’re going to have so many violation ordinates citations and I hope that you fix them to make that campground so safe and respected like you guys say that you do and if you do great that means I accomplish my mission. If not, I still accomplish my mission because I guarantee you OSHA in the Ohio Department code of Justice will not allow this...
