The Williams Ranch Staff is Unfriendly and Unwelcoming
My husband, 7-year-old son, and I visited The Williams Ranch on April 22, 2023. Upon our arrival, we noticed a lack of signage as to where the main office was and as to where the car park was. We felt ignored as the host, Ronnie, who was sitting on a golf cart nearby, saw us but did not come to greet us.
We did speak to him on the phone upon our arrival as we had to ask him where to park the car. Once we parked our car, we went to meet him and pay him after discussing some of the activities we wanted to participate in, and he asked us to sign a waiver. We signed the waiver and proceeded with the activities. When we decided we wanted to use the canoe, we did not see any life jackets although it says on the website that they are available. There was no one to ask about them, so we put a canoe oar into the water to check the depth and started canoeing.
When our canoe capsized, I shouted for help, and while some other guests helped us get to the dock, the host on the premises did not show up to ask a single question as to our welfare.
When I called Cheri at the office, to ask about retrieving our son’s prescription glasses from the lake, she said, “you can jump back in the lake and find them at your own risk,” and did not offer any real help. I have my receipt and proof from B of A that the payment was withdrawn. The next story was that the camel got sick and they had to go to Dallas, so they canceled every one. Next story was that I could be rescheduled. Next it was that I was going to be refunded through the merchant. I asked who is the merchant and did not get a response , even though they originally claimed that I hadn't paid. I sent a copy of my reciept. They ask you to text 5 minutes prior to arrival. I think that is so these con artists can tell you they had a camel emergency and had to cancel. It was an hour drive to get there and a very disappointing discovery. Read moreI had to reschedule our horseback riding and asked if a refund was possible and got several excuses as to why not. There was never a cancelation policy posted and when I asked to see the policy I was refused. The owner did offer to reschedule but when I tried to reschedule I was completely ignored. After many attempts to reach someone I finally had to give up and contact my bank to ask for a charge back, since I paid for a service that I was refused. I also discovered that she insists on being paid through her personal venmo but after talking to venmo that is actually against their policies. I can only imagine she does that so that customers do not have protection when she refuses paid for services.
The owner was incredibly rude, gave many excuses, I did not feel she was honest with me and was very unprofessional. I fully expect a hostile response to this review, which is right in line with my experience...
