Private and super clean! The beds were amazing and we had a restful sleep! Every time we went to town (only a short 5 minute drive away); I’d refer to returning to the cabins as “home.” I was that comfortable! Anything we needed was already there – coffee pot (I cannot go without my coffee!), a special basket with clean towels, linens and even dog bowls for my service dog. Every detail was well thought out, our needs not only anticipated, but personally attended to by our hosts, Craig and Jennifer. ||||The cabins are in a lovely, tranquil setting, a small brook running behind with just enough water to hear the peaceful flow, the woods and sounds of nature all around. We had our own personal fire pit out back and whether making S’mores, sharing stories, or a glass of wine, this ‘extra’ made for beautiful, unforgettable evenings. ||It’s incredible that, although I was only able to stay three days, I left feeling refreshed. Being in such a lovely setting, surrounded by nature for the first time in years, I actually remember what it was like before anxiety and stress occupied my daily life. I was more active, stress and anxiety dissipated and my mind was clear. I found myself smiling for no apparent reason, I was happy just being there.|| ||While we would’ve gladly paid extra for this very special slice of heaven, we didn’t have to. The cost of our stay was less than any hotel within a two hour radius and offered so much more! We enjoyed a short drive to Stowe to visit shops and drove the Mountain Road to take in more of Vermont’s lovely scenery. We put a LOT of thought into this trip and it paid off! Peaceful, cozy and private, Serene Country Cabins has my vote as the BEST choice for our next getaway; I can’t wait to go back and hope to stay...
Read moreFinding wheelchair accessible accommodations in the Green Mountains can be a challenge. Cabin #2 at Serene Country Cabins is not only an ADA gem, but it is also a charming, wonderfully stocked, and immaculate retreat. The doors are all wide, the spacious bathroom equipped with multiple assist bars and a wonderful roll-in shower (with a shower chair). The bedroom is so roomy; with easy wheelchair maneuverability on both sides (no room under the bed for a Hoyer lift, if you need to use one. We did not). The entrance ramp is totally level, and the parking area crushed stone. Little notes throughout the cabin give tips on operating devices and offer lovely meditations. Motion-sensor outdoor lights, thick towels, a well-stocked kitchen, coasters on all of the tables, and lovely bedding are just a few of the loving touches the owners (who are on-site) have provided. We will be staying at Serene Country Cabins...
Read moreThis was the best place we could have chosen for our stay in Vermont. It was way better than any hotel I've ever stayed at because it was so private and quiet! We were in Cabin 6, which is brand new construction. It was very clean, quiet, & comfortable. The cabin had everything we needed. It had A/C, a tv with ROKU (we were able to access all of our streaming services this way), washer/dryer, grill, outside picnic table and chairs, campfire area, fridge, dishes, and more. It was obvious that the owners went to great lengths to make sure everything that you would need is there and I appreciated the attention to detail. One thing to note about this particular cabin is it only has a small shower stall so if you are traveling with younger children you may want to rent one of their other cabins (if you look on the website you'll see that the cabins have different bathrooms, and there is one that...
