This review is for the 2019 fair. 4 stars because of the following things. Worst was the Mud... Made it hard parking and walking to and from the midway. 5.00 per person entry fee with free parking is reasonable. But then your got, unless you're going for the livestock and a few other events. If you want to eat, drink ( hardest beverage is a Monster energy drink ) or for the rides, bring Deep pockets ! Average drink is 4.00, average sandwich is 7-8 dollars. Now the rides.... first if you are a family with young children there's not much for them, there are size limits, the ferris wheel is the only ride with No size requirements, otherwise 32" is the minimum height with 36" being the next, for those two heights there may be 4 rides total. 42" - 48" comes next, which covers around 3/4 of the rides ( some of these require an adult with them ) once you get to 52" you can ride any of them. Now for ticket prices, one ticket is 1.50, next you can get 20 tickets for 25.00, (or get a wristband to ride all day for 25.00 per person) now if you opt out of the wristband, your next and last option is 50 tickets for 60.00 There are several events that require cash only. Most of these are 5.00 per person other than the Hot Air Balloon, it's 15.00 per person, about the ride itself, the balloon is completely tethered to only go up a little above the power lines.
Now for the overall experience, for a family or group of 6, you can expect with, food, drinks, and rides to spend 200.00 - 300.00 for a Saturday or Sunday with the fair being open 12 PM to 11 PM. Entertainment such as livestock animals are limited to showtimes and they don't stay around before or after the event. There is a small section where you can pet some goats, and sheep, that's available most all the time, as well as a poultry and bunny exhibit. Main thing to remember about our county fair is it's home for the 4-H. Security is adequate, yet not constantly in your face, which makes the fair a wonderful family and or...
Β Β Β Read moreThing I like about the Marion County Fair versus the state fair is the admission price is only $5 a person versus $12 per person. As well the lines for rides normally not as long since smaller crowds. The negative thing about The fair are the people who work the games and are shady about the games and rules. tried to get on a water squirt game and they kept running 4 or less players instead waiting to have 6 or more so they have to give out bigger prize to winner. Also seen one giving a guy he'll because he pointed out the stuff animal they have him had a hole, didn't want to give him a good one. The fair was a lot better when games were cheaper, easier to win for kids and the prizes were better. Food and drink prices are a bit high for quality of most the foods too. However me and son had a great time but we just focused on riding rides, check out petting zoo and try...

First off, the parking, there is free parking and paid parking. The free lot is unattended meaning the people of Marion County are free to park other people in. Someone at one point thought to themselves, βself you know what is respectful and will get me a better parking spot? Triple parking.βYah because thatβs a good thing.
The gate attendants. Now they are humans doing a job. But they are very unorganized. Like one person doesnβt know what is exactly the rules. The other person does.
It takes forever to move through security just because the rules arenβt posted on any website or at the gates.
There isnβt anything to really see at the fair itself because Indianapolis doesnβt have many rural areas for 4H.
It is a great place to spend money on nothing really special.
Save your time and money and go to...
