Our first year as a seasonal was great, location was great and even the neighbors we had were great. The owners would often stop by and talk and see how things were going. We enjoyed it so much that we signed up for the same spot for the next year. Second year it started out fine but then quickly turned to a cold type of behavior. We noticed that the seasonal across the street didn’t come back nor did a few others. We figured they had their reasons. About a month after the season opened up, a tree branch fell on my camper and did some damage. I had a hole in my roof; due to my location of being two and half hours south, we contacted the owner of the campground and asked if they could cover the hole until we got there. We never blamed them, nor did we point any fingers. However, from that moment on we were treated rudely, given the cold shoulder and told that we needed to move to a different section within the campground if we planned on staying a second year. Oddly enough, when I inquired why we had to move I was told that sections #73 thru 83 were for family and friends.
Recently, I moved the camper from it’s seasonal location and noticed that my electrical plug was removed from the electrical box. I found this strange as it’s difficult to pull as well as a metal cover that’s closed over the plug to prevent its removal. Regardless, we lost all foods contained in the camper. We have no idea how this occurred nor are we “pointing” fingers.
Quite frankly, such behavior is not conducive of keeping customers nor did they make “this” customer feel welcome a second year which is why there won’t be a third year. Lastly, we have a new addition to our family and found that this campground is more suitable for family but with older kids. Although there is a small lake, there isn’t a swimming pool for toddlers nor is this a place suitable for toddlers as there are many quads, golf carts, mini-bikes running around the...
Read moreWe just stayed there for a week starting the 4th of july 2015. After reading the complaints about the girls in the office, I didn't believe it but I was ready for them (gonna give them rudeness back), but as I suspected they were the same as when we were there 2 years ago. Very polite and helpful. The campground is very nice, the new bath/shower house is as clean an nice as home. They now have 2 bath/shower houses. Both have washers and dryers. Nice sandy play ground for kids. Each camp site is very big, not crowed like some places. Nice sandy beach area for swimming.
Nice pavilion where a one man band (Charlie) sang and played and I must say he was very good. Convenient to Traverse City and sleeping bear dunes which is must see. Leland and Suttons bay are nice little towns to visit.
The WiFi could be better as it didn't work very good/often. The owner said he is at the mercy of their internet provider since they are out in the boonies. He is thinking about putting in a place at the pavilion where you can at least plug in your PC to get on the internet. That would be great for at least checking emails or business related stuff. I rated it 4 stars, would be 5 if it had reliable internet access. But I will go back anyways.
I am not affiliated in any way to the is campground, just telling you...
Read moreWas looking for a great experience and weekends camping at Turtle Lake Campground in Beulah Michigan. Turns out it was mostly an RV park there are very few tent campers. We were camping in tents we were given the worst campsite in the campground. We had no protection from the wind or open elements at all it was extremely windy they did not have cabins to rent we had the worst Campsite in the campground. people were driving by in their golf carts and vehicles at 3:00 in the morning and their lights shined right in our tents because we were put right on the corner of two roads .we had to cut our weekend short because of a severe storm coming in there really wasn't that much to do at the campground. The bathrooms were not that great not an overall good experience at the campground at all. The best experience we had was talking to the campers next to us who are very pleasant. I will not be returning to this Campground and I will not recommend this Campground. When I told them we were checking out they didn't ask why they offered no kind of refund no kind of anything just okay not very friendly people...
