Pardee Lake Recreation Area has been creating positive memories for visitors since its opening in 1958. Located along the Mokeumne River, Pardee Recreation ARea provides stunning views and diverse activities for all visitors, old and young. The park lays in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range of Northern California and is just twelve miles southwest of Jackson. The facility is reachable from Highway 88 or Highway 12 and is right outside the historic town of Sutter Creek. The overwhelming beauty of this recreation area provides for guests a state of peace as they witness the tranquility of geese floating on the water top, excitement as wild turkeys dart accross their path

Was here in April 2021, camped is site 128 (dry) - which is about as private a site as is there. I prefer privacy, so this was a nice site. Most other sites get pretty cozy with your neighbor. As far as I could tell, all restrooms except near the big parking lot were porta potties. I didn't see any showers, but there are probably some somewhere. I did not see any vault toilets. There were a ton of fishermen there. I fished from shore, and in three days caught one trout. No one else from shore was even getting a bite, and even some of the boaters came back empty handed. You pay $7.25 per day to fish, whether from shore or a boat, so if you're there for a week it adds up. Plus the $5 per dog (I have 2) - that meant I spent $17.25 per day for my dogs and to fish. There's nice trails that are good to hike and bike.

We were there the last 2 weeks of July 2024 And they had closed down the rest of the park with only the long-term parking area available which is what we wanted anyway for 520 per month Plus electric. Very nice place very well-cared-for and very clean concrete pads etc et cetera and very good walking area around the Marina and in the hills. It was quite hot during the time we were there so be prepared. Sarah and the other managers were very nice. Check beforehand if the restrooms showers and laundry are available they were having problems with the water filter for those systems.

What do you dislike about it? Share a tip... I was just there this weekend I have been coming here for almost 10 years now and i had made my reservation 4 month in advance , i think they changed management because they were always so friendly and never had a problem, and when i got there the Lady said we made a mistake on your reservation here is your new spot it was late so i went to see where they had put me. I get there and I'm just upset at this point, they put me on a slopped area and they put someone else in my spot I was upset so I called them, she said there was nothing i could do they could not give me my spot i told her i don't feel its right i should have to be punished for there mistake and she said she could move me to another spot but just not the one i had reserved, tired of trying to reason with her and all the attitude i said forget it and just started setting up. Im the morning the sheriff and Ranger come to my site and said i was being evicted because they had too many complaints of loud noise at 4am!!! Mind you i arrived with my parents and we were in bed by 1am tired of setting up cooking and ready for bed. They said i would not get a refund and the sheriff said i had 45min to get all my stuff and GO!! They could careless what i had to say the decision was made i had to go. They are they are the rudest people i have ever dealt with very unprofessional and would NEVER recommend this place to anyone. I was so upset. This is the last time i will ever go there they are rude and could care less about you. I will NEVER come...

Stayed at Site 209 on the 4th of July weekend in 2015.

Reserved a site about a month before visiting. Once I got to the campgrounds I was not completely happy with the site I had reserved. The staff was very friendly and nice about letting me pick a new site with no hassle at all.

The Lake View Campground is the side of the campsite when you first enter the grounds. This area is closer to the pool, general store, marina, is generally more shaded and closer to one of the only flush-able toilets. If you have kids that want to use the pool this is definitely the side you want to stay on. If you might be the less prepared camper that might need a couple runs to the general store this is the side for you. If you can not handle not having shade, this is the side for you.

The Oaks Campground is a small drive over the hill once you enter the grounds. This area is not within walking distance of the pool, general store or marina. This area of the grounds is in general a little less shaded by trees. There are no flush-able toilets on this side with everything being a port a potty. If you would like a little more secluded area and might be a little more experienced camper, this is more likely your side.

More shade is needed throughout the campground, which it looks like they have started to plant some trees on the Lake View Campground side. More planting are definitely needed on the Oaks...

We’ve been coming here for years, and we were disappointed when the campground had to close last season, so we were really looking forward to coming back. Unfortunately, during our 3½-day stay, the garbage bins weren’t emptied until our last day, and the porta potties weren’t cleaned at all—they smelled awful the entire time.

The woman working the front desk was also extremely rude. When we tried to use the pool shortly after opening time, the gate was still locked. I politely asked at the office if the pool was open, and she became irritated just for asking.

We were also really disappointed that we couldn’t rent a boat this time due to a new law passed on July 1st requiring a boating safety course before operating one. We were told this campground was enforcing it strictly, even though supposedly no other places around the area are. It felt unnecessarily restrictive and frustrating.

We’ve loved this place in the past, but this visit left us really let down. I hope management improves the cleanliness, customer service, and finds a more flexible solution to the boating policy...
