Scenic Inn — Hotel in Iowa Falls

We like to support the independent business owners instead of the big chains so we picked the Scenic Inn in Iowa Falls. It's really not very scenic. The owners seem nice and helpful. ||Our room decor was pretty funny. It was a moose painted on velvet that was positioned on the wall about 3 inches from the ceiling. That's fine. ||The disappointing part is that even though the owner tried to help us get wi-fi, which is promised, we just had the spinning dial and never were connected. ||The other thing is that we were promised coffee in the office at 7 a.m. Even though I tried 3 times between 7 and 8 a.m. the office was always locked and the coffee pot seen through the door had yesterday's coffee in it. ||Also, the water pressure was iffy, fine for two of us, close to a trickle for the third. ||The price was acceptable, but we would have liked what we...

Stayed here last year for better than a month straight because of work out there. Room was only cleaned every 3 to 4 days and can of soup every once in a while come up missing no big deal but I did notice. Someone liked clamchowder . A smell started to show itself while staying there as it got worse I left a message to front desk with no reply. After waking up with a headache from the smell I investigated it by moving the entire bed frame and found 2 dead rats under my bed it was disgusting.After bringing it to the front office again they did clean and deodorize the room but I couldn't eat dinner in the room probably phycalogical at that point. My "Very Good" rating refers to the excellent value this motel offers. Travel north from US 20 on HWY 65 and the first motels you see are two newer motels on either side of the road as you enter town. One was completely booked and the other had a single room for $110.00 (including tax) when I arrived. I proceeded through town on HWY 65 for about two miles and checked into Scenic Inn for less than half the price of the others.
