Very nice, quiet little camp ground. This was our first outing in a new to us camper trailer so we were looking for a low hey location that was affordable but had high ratings and good reviews. Cross Rip checked all the boxes. Positives about Cross Rip: The whole camp ground was clean, there is plenty of signage indicating intended rules, courtesies for others, etc. It was very quiet and all were respectful of other sites, and friendly to boot.
The sites were clean and well prepped for the next campers, you are able to somewhat rearrange the fire pit and bench if needed to suit your camper entry/awning, and utilities. I'm not sure this is the case with all sites or even encouraged, but it was possible on our site and we were not questioned when I had to move a few things to accommodate our particular trailer.
Bathrooms include showers and multiple toilets. They were clean consistently over the entire weekend, and we felt comfortable showering using their facilities. There is a convenient sink to wash basic items at if needed as well.
Our only note of advice would really be for families that are looking for things to do outside of the great little beach, fishing, and swimming they offer. As there are very few locations to visit of interest to children. There are a few parks within a half hour, and a maritime museum, but beyond that you'll have to travel a bit further for anything outside of simply relaxing at your campsite. :)
Overall we had a great experience just the two of us relaxing at our site, the fishing pier, the little beach, and on the trail near the pond.
Would definitely recommend if you want a quaint, quiet, and relaxed location. Cross Rip deserves its high rating for that...
Read moreMy family of 2 teens and 2 adults stayed a weekend at Cross Rip Campground. My wife had grown up going to this campground. She last visited Cross Rip 17 years ago. There are now new owners of the Campgrounds. They have done A LOT of work getting the campgrounds up to par and renovating the cottages. So for the grounds. It is very clean with plenty of trees for shade. They are out on the grounds every morning at sunrise cleaning the grounds, chairs, and raking the beach. The pier is in tip-top shape. They have rod holders, a place to clean your fish and also benches to relax while waiting on the rod to bend. Everyone that we encountered at the campgrounds were awesome campers. Very quiet throughout the campground for a nice peaceful relaxing place all around. The Cottages are stocked with everything that you need. It is literally a home away from home. Pack your clothes and some food for the fridge and you are set. They have everything else that you would need in the cottages. Also, they do have wifi that works great. Also, they let you use canoes and kayaks. (NO CHARGE) As for the Owners of the grounds. You couldn't ask for better hosts. They take customer service to another level. Very personable. We already booked another 3 trips in the very near future and will be continuing to book for the years to come. To Top it off, Fishing is Good. The owners also know about what is being caught by conversing with whoever is fishing and giving that information to whoever is going to be fishing. By far my...
Read moreMy brother showed up at the campground after church around 1pm, during business hours, wanting to get fees and basically checking it out. A woman claiming to be the owner refused to talk to him about the fees and amenities, told him to go online, go online and get off the property. My brother brother being the shy man that he is was floored. He left of course and will probably go to the other campground on the other side of Deltaville. So don't go there expecting to get treated well right off the road. Evidently they don't take those kind of check-ins I copied this from their web page Better yet, see us in person! We love our customers, so feel free to visit during normal business hours. Business hours are 7 days a week 8am 7pm It's not true. The owner will run you off. FYI the internet/cellphone service is next to non existent in most of Deltaville.......so there's that to...
