My first phone call, to what I thought would be the front desk, was answered by Chris (the owner) like a cell phone with a weird hello making me think I got the wrong number. Her tone acted as if it was strange someone would even be calling. I reached out because a member of our group let me know they charged his card the full amount of the hotel room on a Monday morning when we were staying on Friday and Saturday. When I questioned this, Chris rudely let me know she had to pay her staff and thats just how things are done around here. The terms and conditions say they will charge you 24 hours in advance, not a week. My friend was upset about it ; when he refused to pay a week in advance, Chris cancelled his reservation, via email, on 4th of July weekend so he didn’t have another option. I was sent an email the morning of my check in stating to take a picture of my drivers license and text it to a random number for room access. I never did this. I showed up at 4:45pm on a Friday, the busiest weekend of the year, and no one was there. No one was there Friday, Saturday or Sunday except a really nice man who seemed like maintenance and cleaning lady, but never a desk person. (glad they were because I walked out to get ice without my key card or phone and I would have been locked out of my room for who knows how long)
You have to get your room key from a basket in an unlocked office. Anyone could have walked in there, grabbed an envelope, taken one of the key cards and been waiting for me in the room when I walked in. Very bizarre process and numerous other people who stayed there expressed their hesitation to text a drivers license picture to a number they don’t know. It seems like this place gets a way with a lot because of the location.
The rooms aren’t half bad: spacious bathroom, mini fridge, No cable even though they act like there is, decent towels and sheets and an AC unit that cools the room pretty quickly. If Chris wasn’t so rude and they didn’t have this lazy, selfish checkin process, this might be a halfway decent place for the price
I don’t like writing reviews or making disparaging remarks about a business, but people like this don’t deserve to profit. Stay at a local air...
Read moreMy husband and I recently stayed at the Dockside Inn for a wedding in Deltaville. When we booked our room a month or so ago, the website gave an option for early check-in to which we opted for. A couple of days prior to the wedding I called to confirm the early check-in time and the women I spoke to, Chris, was incredibly unprofessional. She seemed very overwhelmed with the amount of people checking in and said she didn't think she was able to allow an early check-in (even though we had opted for it and what I assumed paid for it when we reserved the room), but she would check with the staff. The next day she let me know I was able to check- in early, but said that she sure hoped it went smoothly. I thought perhaps she was having a tough week.|After we checked-in we discovered the key to our room didn't work. The other Inn staff were trying to help as best they could, but it was 90 degrees out, and our door was opened to the outside while they were trying to rewire the lock. As you can imagine, this was upsetting since we were trying to get ready for a wedding. When we called Chris to discuss the issue (they had offered to come back after we left for the wedding), she was AGAIN incredibly rude and condescending. I cannot imagine speaking to another person the way she spoke to myself and then my husband. Unfortunately, This seems to be a common issue with guests staying here.|I highly recommend staying away from the...
Read moreI rank it three stars because there's no details about the sketchy Wi-Fi they offer it but it doesn't mean you're going to use it unless you go outside of your room and sit in the parking lot the water on the property smells like rotten boiled eggs and it's well water so you should not drink it I would not bathe in it and you should also bring your own water there is no one on the property in the office it is a contactless check-in. And if you have any problems you will have to email the personnel and it's not sure they're going to get back to you they do not tell you these things online in the description of the hotel your cell phone will also not work if you do not have Verizon or Sprint so you may even have to purchase a phone or SIM card for that area to use your phone now if you drive about 30 miles from that location you will then start to receive cell service but overall it's very peaceful it's beautiful and if you want to be off the grid it is the excellent place to go it would have got five stars if it had better cell service Wi-Fi and...
