My partner and I drove quite a ways to spend a relaxing weekend at this resort for Valentine’s Day. I have to say I feel Iike the website for this place is very misleading. We had a king suite which was small, the TV was glitching, and the bathroom was bleak. My only positive on the room was that it was clean and the bed was comfortable.
The website stated that the market would be able to deliver to the rooms (see photo below) and we later found that room service was not an option for any of the restaurants. One of the reasons we wanted a weekend getaway was so we could relax fully which it didn’t feel like we could do here and were grossly mislead.
We chose the Bnb package which states, Breakfast is included complimentary in the package we chose, but in reality you still get charged over $50 as a fee. The breakfast itself has a “curated chef” that makes omelets but honestly the breakfast was similar to most buffet-style breakfasts included at most other regular hotels. Also, what does “overnight accommodations” mean?? That’s so misleading. You can only have the paid breakfast during breakfast hours and THEY FORCE YOU TO LEAVE A TIP ON TOP OF THAT.
We also had a mix up with the spa. We were supposed to get a couples massage but they only schedule one person, not two. We ended up just cancelling the one and getting a $20 credit on our bill. We had our nails done instead (a deluxe manicure) which was $65 each for normal nail polish that ended up chipping and coming off/smudging 30 minutes-hour later after drying. It did not feel luxury and our nails look horrible. The nail techs themselves were very nice.
The bowling alley was fun but our lane was glitching as well and was resetting the pins midway through each of our turns.
Lastly, the resort charges ridiculous fees like an “amenities fee” for things like having a bed, a tv and balcony. All things most if not all hotels already have. There is not one actual amenity I can think of. Amenities are supposed to be included as a part of the stay you’re already paying for not labeled as an additional thing on TOP of what you’re already paying for. It makes absolutely no sense.
This place feels greedy, service was lackluster, and it is way over priced for what you receive.

Read moreThis resort is absolutely amazing and their staff is the best I’ve ever seen in my life. We attended spring awakening music festival and were staying 3 days far out of town. We had a motel 6 reserved but they had sold the room out from under us. I was in a panic at 1 in the morning trying to find a place to stay and we called eagle wood and they told us to come on out. We arrived and Stevie at the front desk helped us try to find something cheaper for our second night, but we ended up loving the resort so much that we stayed all weekend and traveled to the festival from there. Stevie worked with us and she got the price as low as possible for us so that we still had enough money to enjoy our vacation. I don’t know what we would have done if it wasn’t for these awesome people. We were hours out of town at the time and thought maybe we would have to head home and that would be the end of our weekend getaway. The next day Jenna at the front desk was an amazing help in getting us some paperwork so we could charge the room on a card that we had left at home and she hooked us up with complimentary breakfast at their in house restaurant that served amazing quality and fresh foods. It appears as though spring awakening may be returning to Hoffman estates next year and if that’s the case we will definitely be staying with eaglewood again. I also suggest that if any other festival attendees plan on finding a room, this is the one for you. They were extremely friendly to us even though we looked practically homeless after raging at the concert all night and coming in sweaty and dusty. The rooms were so clean and comfortable and the soaps they offer were amazing, they smelled like fresh lemon and pine and they were all natural and environmentally conscious. Unfortunately we didn’t get to experience all of their amenities but they have something for everyone to enjoy their stay. A golf course, bowling alley, a spa, a pool and many other awesome things. Thanks again everyone, from the bottom of our hearts we appreciate you like no other, if it wasn’t for you our first free weekend as new parents would have...
Read moreWe went for a relaxing getaway and were severely disappointed. First, the hotel reeked of smoke everywhere. Had to move rooms because of this. The next room had someone’s dirty socks left behind and was not super clean. Besides this, the room was fine. The outdoor patio was nice and the space is fair. The most disappointing part however was the “spa”. The website is incredibly misleading and I’m writing this review to make it clear for other guests as I would have liked to have known all the following before spending the money to do this. 1) It says you have access to a pool, sauna, whirlpool, steam room, etc. under the “spa amenities”. None of that is part of the “spa”, rather it is part of the recreation center, open to the public and all hotel guests. So we went for a relaxing getaway only to find the nice whirlpool photo they have is not real and there were 25+ screaming children running around in the pool, sauna, etc that they tell you is part of your exclusive spa experience. Also, it was extremely gross and the locker rooms were disgusting. 2) the woman on the phone at booking said we would have access to the “spa” throughout our stay and I made sure to ask that it wasn’t just the day of our treatment. She confirmed that we would, but they wouldn’t let us use the relaxation room except for the day of treatment once we got there (the ONLY part of the spa amenities that truly is part of the spa only). 3) finally, but super important, they add a 22% gratuity “FOR YOUR CONVENIENCE” to all spa treatments and you CANNOT change that. They just tack it onto your bill even if your treatment wasn’t great. Super non-transparent and when I asked the woman checking me out for further clarification about why I had to do 22% if I wanted to do a more standard tip, she just didn’t respond. Never seen something like this and the staff were not helpful or friendly. Just want to make sure before you book that you consider these things as we had no idea and what was meant to be a nice getaway was hugely...
